Do not move to Ct then, a recent McDonald's trip in Bristol for my family was close to $50.

New England is very expensive, but God called me here and meets my needs. :amen:

Yes, with a $100.00 meal Bro. Matt sound guilty.

The wife and I have never even paid $50.00 for a meal. We thought we were stepping in high cotton several weeks back when we had a meal that cost $24.95 which was covered by a gift certificate given to us.

I recall many years ago we had heard about how good a certain Steak house was to eat at. We saved money to be able to make a trip there to eat. I believe the cost was a bit over $10.00, wow, was it good. But we could not afford to eat there over once per year.

Linda and I go to a place nearly every Friday night to eat, its good and generally cost me $13.60.

I certainly wish our corner of the country's cost of living was as inexpensive as your part. But then again, our hourly wages are most likely proportionately higher than your area. I suppose in relative terms it evens out more than at first blush, but who knows for sure.

In any event, I'm always thankful to God for a tender juicy steak. My preference for a cut is Delmonico Rib-Eye. We generally don't eat out for steak, but get a 10 to 15 lb. side (price per pound is much cheaper) and have the butcher cut it into 1 1/4 inch steaks and then grill them with Montreal Steak seasoning......deliciouso..........(the steaks that don't get grilled then, get frozen for subsequent meals).

With that said, if I found $100 I'd most likely do something for our kids or grand kids. We have all of our own needs met daily by the Lord having given me a good job.

Bro. Matt, I work in Bristol at Central IT for Webster Bank. I know that McDonalds!

I was thinking the other day how funny it is that we'll take our family out to dinner for $50 ("we" being in general, anyone) but if you see a nice bottle of perfume for $50 its like "Oh my word! $50! I'd NEVER pay that." Even though the perfume will last a good two years and the meal lasted a good two hours. hahaha.

*Suzy is justifying a weak moment last summer when she bought a $60 bottle of perfume she fell in love with...first bottle in years that wasn't from Bath and Body Works....however she still has over half of it left so hey calculate that per month and its a pretty good deal!*

on NPR yesterday they were discussing video games costing $60 or more. The normal time spent on one of those games is around 100-120 hours of entertainment (which is crazy). The point was where else can you get entertainment for $0.50/hour. Video games are a relatively cheap source of entertainment.

The same logic works in your perfume example.

We have a favorite Mexican restaurant we eat at often. When all three of us go, even with a good tip (they are really attentive to us, since we are regulars, so we give a good tip along with a tract every time) we spend right around $25.

We took a missionary family of 7 with us one time, and spent (including an even better tip!) $60. We were pleasantly surprised that it was less than we were allowing for! $60 sounds like a lot, but we had been saving for a while, and there were 9 of us! That works out to less than $7 per person. And that included drinks for the adults (tea...not alcohol, folks!! :frog ).

Good point, those who purchase alcohol with their dinners probably pay twice as much for their dinner......

The alcohol is probably their big profit maker. I'm happy that we live in an areas where that liquid devil is not sold, although we do have 2 private clubs in our county that sells it.

Hmm...if I found a hundred dollars, I would probably give some to church, and keep the rest. Or something along those lines.
God bless,
Crushmaster.

Reading all the different replies was really fun on this idea of finding $100 dollars and what you would do with it. I've alway's simply tithed any money I've found. But if I we're praying earnestly for a need that I lacked exactly $100 dollars I might would use the money for that assuming that was my answer to prayer. I would have to pray really hard if that was meant for me to spend that on our need. I can say for sure I would do one of these two thing's!!!
