I am sure you are all aware that a new version of the disgusting story of Beauty and the Beast has been released. Aside from it being a love story, involving bestiality and magic, being marketed toward children, it now, reportedly, includes a sodomitic subplot. On a hunch, I decided to look up this director, Bill Condon. Apparently, the director of the latest children's film by Disney is directed by an open and proud sodomite. I found an interview of him with a sodomite travel magazine called "Passport." In it, he is asked: Passport: What is first thing you do when you get into a hotel room? Condon: "I wish I could say I’m like Ian McKellen and immediately…

Did you ever wonder what it would have been like to meet our founding fathers? The knowledge of the following was never provided to me by any of my teachers or professors. Through these letters I feel a greater understnading of nation's framers. I've copied out an excerpt below as an example. Franklin writing to Hancock from Nantes, France. THE DIPLOMATIC CORRESPONDENCE OF THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION. VOL. III. ED. Jared Sparks, 1829 THE CORRESPONDENCE OF BENJAMIN FRANKLIN. TO JOHN HANCOCK, PRESIDENT OF CONGRESS. Nantes, December 8th, 1776 "Our voyage, though not long, was rough, and I feel myself weakened by it, but I now recover strength daily, and in a…

I'm thinking about trying something new this summer. I love history, and have explored a lot of historic sites in the area during my travels, and thought it might be fun to try volunteering as a costumed interpreter at one of our local living history sites. May have bitten off more than I can chew, though - I participated in the orientation for a small historic site (the John Walter Museum) on Sunday, and now Fort Edmonton has called me for an interview there (yes, interview - they get a ton of volunteers and can pick and choose)! Assuming I pass the interview, now I've got to choose which site to volunteer at. Has anyone tried anything like this before? Which part…

I have never been a fan of comics and the older I get, the more I not only don't care for them, but I believe them to be dangerous. Here is a documentary called, "The Replacement Gods." It is done by a group of Seventh Day Adventists, but I believe the points they make are very valid. David Cloud also wrote a good article warning about fantasy called, "Fantasy Dangers."

I had a laugh reading some of these but, some of them would be nice to see in worship services today. FROST'S LAWS AND BY-LAWS OF AMERICAN SOCIETY A CONDENSED BUT THOROUGH TREATISE ON ETIQUETTE AND ITS USAGES IN AMERICA, CONTAINING PLAIN AND RELIABLE DIRECTIONS FOR DEPORTMENT IN EVERY SITUATION IN LIFE ON THE FOLLOWING SUBJECTS: Author: Sarah Annie Frost, 1869 ETIQUETTE IN CHURCH. IN visiting a church in which you have no pew of your own, wait in the vestibule until the sexton comes to you, and request him to show you to a seat. It is extremely rude to enter a pew without invitation if it is partially filled, or without permission if it is empty. …

Is there anyone here that has worked for or is working for the USPS? I ordered a bundle of 100 Gospel of John/Romans newspapers from them a few days ago. They print them in and ship them from Cadillac, Michigan. The package was driven an hour north (50 miles) to Traverse City. It was then flown 500 miles southeast to Warrendale, Pennsylvania, where it is right now. The reason that I am confused is because I live in Livonia, Michigan, only 200 miles southeast of Cadillac. The package needs to be flown back another 300 miles. Why do they ship something 600 miles (out of state and back) out of the way? I get a lot of things shipped and they do this at least…

I am writing a paper / book on Baptist Distinctives and I am currently writing on the topic of Soul Liberty. My question is this: since Soul Liberty is the topic do I need to capitalize the words soul liberty each time the combination is used in the chapter and elsewhere? I would greatly appreciate your wise counsel.

A few days ago, I ordered a soroban abacus with a reset button from Ebay. I just chose one that looked fairly decent and that was reasonably priced. When I received the confirmation email, I noticed that it was being shipped from Shenzhen, China. I paid $14.95 + 3.95 shipping. I looked around Ebay and found the exact same abacus, even using the same photos, that ship from several different suppliers in the U.S., but they were selling for two and sometimes three times more of the selling price and had the same, and sometimes higher, shipping price. It blows my mind that I can buy a single China made product, directly from China, cheaper than I can buy that exact s…

Today is the anniversary of the M\assacre at Vassy (now spelled Wassy but prounounced the same) in France. On the first March 1562, the Duke of Guise and his troops attacked a barn where christians were worshipping and up to 200 were killed. Catholics dispute the figure, or even that there was one.

Since beards are referred to so much in scripture, I thought it might be both fun and edifying to have a thread where fellows can discuss all things beard. I am not usually one for discussing such things. I have seen an explosion of popularity of beards among men recently, which is wonderful, but I have also noticed an explosion of videos and websites of men talking about their beards in much the same way that women talk about make up; about which I am not pleased. For those of you who may not be familiar with what history and God's word has to say about beards and who may have not seen this video, I submit Pastor John Weaver's sermon entitled, "The Biblical and Hi…

To our friends that do not reside in the United States and that reside in countries that use the SI (metric) system of weights and measures. I am an American living in the United States who is ready to make a complete and total switch to the SI system, otherwise known as the metric system. The only problem is that it is very difficult to get authentic and accurate SI products. When trying to get SI products here, they typically have both Imperial and SI and the SI side is often not very accurate. I am interested in precise SI measuring products and am willing to purchase them from retailers outside of the United States. Could anyone offer suggestions that wou…

Family Christian Bookstores closing it's doors. Expect more of this I think as it seems that the only thing people want to read these days are their text msg's and Facebook posts on their phone. Could it be said that Christian bookstores sell very few Scriptural books anyway? And mostly corrupt Bibles?

(Proverbs 26:4-5) "Answer not a fool according to his folly, lest thou also be like unto him. {5} Answer a fool according to his folly, lest he be wise in his own conceit." I understand these verses to mean the following: v4 means that we are not supposed to spend our time attempting to reason with fools, in their own foolishness, indefinitely; thinking that if we just make a clear enough argument, that they will be able to see their foolishness for what it is. v5 means that we are to spend a brief period of time indulging them and playing out their own logic with them; basically, holding their foolishness up in front of them, like a mirror, in the hope that they wi…

I enjoy reading posts by 1timothy115; especially since that is one of my many favorite verses in the Bible. It helps to keep me humble when my pride starts rearing its ugly head. In fact, that verse is so important to me, I went and did this about six years ago: (see attached photo). The plate I had before this one said, "ITOOTED." I removed it because 1. It was childish. 2. I got tired of being asked about it. 3. I got tired of looking in my rear view mirror and seeing people taking pictures of my plate, pointing and laughing. It was fun at first, but it got old. So far, no one has approached me or otherwise shown any sign of noticing the newer one.

Our church is holding a HBC for three days next week. This will be the first time since we became members over 20 years ago. We wrote to all the primary schools in the area and ask if we could give them leaflets. The first to reply was the Catholic School who asked for 360. Overall we have given the schools 1500 leaflets, but if we have many more than 50 children, we may struggle to cope. There used to be a man from a nearby church who ran a Sunshine Corner on the grassy slopes above the beach in the summer, but he went to be with the Lord a few years ago. In a town about 5 miles away there is a church that holds a HBC in the summer holidays.

For anyone who may have been subscribed to the Way of Life Literature (David Cloud) RSS feed... We recently upgraded the site with a new mobile friendly (responsive) theme. In that process we had to kill the old RSS feed. There is a new feed for David Cloud's reports here: http://fetchrss.com/rss/5887617c8a93f88e5c7b23c667659280686.xml

Just wanted to let everyone know that I'm going to be taking a hiatus from OB. I started to put it in the IFB Lounge, but I decided to put it here so that everyone would know. I know I'm not important (LOL!), but I just wanted to let everyone know so there wouldn't be anyone wondering "what happened to NN?" I just have to take some time for my family, myself, and the Lord right now. Also, there have been some prayer requests made known...both publicly and privately. Please know that those requests will continue to be prayed for. I'm not looking for anyone to respond to this, so don't feel like you have to say anything. I just wanted to let it be known that I wou…

Brethren, The Lord Jesus personally chose Paul, then called Saul, as the 12th. Apostle, to replace Judas Iscariot. I had previously discussed this issue in detail in my study on the Book of Titus. Here is the link to that study: Here is the portion of that study in Titus that deals with the issue whether or not Paul was the 12th Apostle. Revelation 21:14, and Matthew 19:28, is very clear that there are only 12 apostles. To say that Matthias is the apostle for the nation of Israel and that Paul was just the apostle to the Gentiles is a private interpretation. Is Paul the 13th Apostle as some folks say? If so, than Revelation 21:14 and Matthew 19:28 is …

I don't think I would find many here who misunderstand what the Pope refers to when he says, "the Church." For those who may not understnad, he is talking about the Church of/at Rome (i.e. The Roman Catholic Church). Here is a recent article concerning his thoughts about salvation.

I'm curious why the Independent Baptist Forums are closed off to everyone else. I would think you would want people to know your standards and practices.
