YES! After all of these years, and after hearing the many testimonies of others who received their "miracle checks" in the mail...it has finally happened to us! I went to the mail yesterday, and nestled in and amongst everything was an envelope from our insurance agency...I thought the color of the paper (that was visible through the envelope's window) looked strange. So it seems that after spending about $10,000 on our new heat/air system and the new roof this year, they have lowered our yearly insurance cost! I opened the envelope, and therein was a check...one of those miracle checks that everyone talks about! They had pro-rated the difference between our old…

I thought about putting this under the Music forum, but it isn't really a Biblical issue (at least I hope not!!!) so I put it in the Lounge. Just think of it as chamber music. Here's my contribution. (PS, this was impromptu so please excuse my uncombed hair.)

...of being on Online Baptist! Wow. Funny how an online forum can become such an integral part of one's life, and people you've never met can seem like old friends. (Look at me being all sentimental... ) In honor of the occasion, I've decided to do a 'Best (and Worst) of OB' list: 1. The time Alimantado mimicked JerryNumbers' username and started offering up JerryNumbers' vegetables! And JerryNumbers thought he'd been hacked! And Kitagirl banned Carl!I was up watching the drama unfold and laughed till I cried.... 2. Coming back to OB after a hiatus and wondering why Carl was talking like he was saved now... and finding out he was. 3. Meeting HappyChristian i…

Just a thought. I know there is a wide range of musical knowledge and ability here. From "I wish I could but am embarrassed by my total ignorance" (self-perceived ignorance) to "I've been trained!" (so have sea lions) and everything in between. I'm wondering if there's enough interest to warrant its own space (like the Homesteading area). My thoughts were: 1) It should be under the IFB area to reduce potential problems. 2) It should be for Q&A, tips, and so forth NOT debate on music style or genre. 3) It should be a place welcome to all levels from "Have an interest though not doing anything with it yet" to "I write, compose, play and sing". 4) Questions …

IF you can pronounce correctly every word in this poem, you will be speaking English better than 90% of the native English speakers in the world After trying the verses, a Frenchman said he’d prefer six months of hard labour to reading six lines aloud, and we’ll be honest with you, we struggled with parts of it. You’ve been reading “The Chaos” by Gerard Nolst Trenité, written nearly 100 years ago in 1922, designed to demonstrate the irregularity of English spelling and pronunciation.

It took a lot of time, but I think I have found some emoticons that are acceptable. They are not as good as the ones BroMatt had, but it is difficult to find decent ones. Hope you enjoy having emoticons back.

Currently marriage in Australia is defined as between a man and a woman. There is about to be a "Postal Plebiscite" to decide if ti stays that way. This is going to happen basically because the current ruling party wanted a compulsory attendance plebiscite (referendum basically), but couldn't get enough votes in the parliament to do so. The main opposition parties want a vote in parliament by the representatives. Remember that I am not talking about the US, but Australia, and a true plebiscite vote is not only legal, but the highest expression of democracy available in Australia, where each and every eligible person can vote on a particular issue. As a…

Really interesting passage in which we see 5000 saved, but neither baptised NOR added to a church. Try again. As for Paul....... 1 Cor 1 14 I thank God that I baptized none of you, but Crispus and Gaius; So, wrong again..... Acts 2:41 stands clear as to the order: believe, baptised, added.

For all practical purposes Israel is America’s 51st State. The US gives Israel 10’s of $billions of dollars each year and yet American Citizen’s did not vote for this. What’s up? The US could pay off its national debt with this money. I think it is time for a national vote on this. Either we bring in Israel as our 51st State and they pay their fair share or we stop the $billions in handouts. How do you vote-?

God is good! Our sheep sales have finally picked up and we sold 64 animals this past week. One man bought 3, another bought 5 and another bought 56. The last guy, from Orlando, had bought 32 last year, but when my wife had miscounted and discovered an extra sheep had been loaded, she texted the guy. A few weeks later, he sent a check for the extra sheep. Well, the same thing happened this year; we thought the count was 55, but there was an extra number unaccounted for(my fault this time). After I texted the man, he texted back saying that he indeed had 56 and that he would send a check. This sheep broker's last name is "Ali" and he primarily sells to Muslims. Th…

This youtube went viral. These four piano players were having fun after a Wednesday night church service. They used no music...simply playing from a list of hymns written in a notebook. Enjoy!

Whether you believe it or not, you don't own the road. I'm tired of having to slam my brakes on because you see 10 feet of empty space in front of me; in which, you can pull out. You're lucky I'm a Christian and not single...I'd plow into you just to teach you a lesson...I'm tired of it. And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise. You might wanna do that in relation to others instead of others applying it to you. Sorry folks, but my flesh has reared its ugly head.

This father's day, my grandson gave me a little home-made card with a picture drawn in crayon. Then he said "Papa, that's you fishin' ....and that's me with you". So I went out and bought a boat. It's a 1978 model 14' fiberglass with a 35 horse Johnson, remote steering, galvanized trailer, and the guy even threw in 3 life jackets, a landing net, a paddle, fire extinguisher, alarm whistle and half a tank of gas. for $600! I knew when I bought it, that it would need a new "bendix" on the electric starter so I ordered one on Ebay and installed that on Saturday: $23. I pulled it into town today so PawPaw and myself could take it for a whirl on the lake after work. Unfortunat…

My husband is worried about not having eternal security. He heard that one can be born again, but still die spiritually from starving, by not going from the milk to the meat of the word and I guess continuing with God. Also he heard that when it talks about us having eternal life in the Bible, it means Jesus, but that He's walking with us but we can choose to turn away and jump out of His hand. My husband is very upset and it's upsetting me and making me nervous, too. I think this stuff is hurting his faith, please help... I'm having a panic attack.. its hard for me to explain all the stuff he heard, but it's worrying him very much. I'm not as knowledgeable as i sho…
