Saw this video on FB today - thought it was worth sharing. It's really good....and it goes out with a big thank you from me to all of those who have served or are serving in the US military.

Another post/poll (lying) made me wonder about this question. We understand sin and our GOD are at opposite extremes. The supreme person of eternity cannot look upon sin. I can only imagine what sin's nearness to God might be like, cataclysm might hold a rough description. Could you offer an example, personal or borrowed, for illustrating the huge burden Jesus Christ bore on the cross at Calvary for our sin..........................................................................................................................................................................................................................................s ?

How many congregational songs does your church sing on Sunday AM? (NOT including invitation) We sing five and we sing every verse of every song. (Established long before I came here.) Unique?

My son found him on our breezeway. He was only about 12-18 inches long and was not aggressive at all. As I was poking him out the door with a long stick, I got a good look at one of his eyes, and it was round. I'm inclined to think he is a juvenile rat snake. Anyone know for sure? The camera picked up his markings really well; from a distance, he just looked black.

One example of chivalry would be when the Titanic was sinking, back in the early 1900s. There weren't enough lifeboats for everyone, so all of the men stayed on the ship, letting the women and children go on the precious boats. Here's the dictionary definiton: chivalry 1. The medieval system, principles, and customs of knighthood. 2.a. The qualities idealized by knighthood, such as bravery, courtesy, honor, and gallantry toward women. b. A manifestation of any of these qualities. 3. A group of knights or gallant gentlemen. Basically, it is being a gentlemen, being courageous, gallant, etc. I am sure Wikipedia probably has more on it if you wish to learn more about …

Bro. Matt was looking for IFB news the other day. I thought.. "Just just see what we find." I set-up a Google Alert for the phrases "independent baptist" and "fundamental baptist." (A Google Alert sends you an email when anything new comes up on blogs or news sites containing your search phrase(s). I had already setup an Alert for "shot and killed." (I monitor about 20 different subjects in this way, including my name.) Results? Over the last two days there were 49 new stories with the phrase "shot and killed." How many stories for the two baptist phrases combined? Five To summarize: People are getting "shot and killed" ten times more than ANY new IFB story…

This should bring a few posts, I hope......I need some help on the subject. I need to hear views from all Preachers and anyone familiar with this subject. I'm trying to reach some hispanic people that I am associated with at work and I want to tell them the truth about our Baptist heritage and faith. I've heard some preachers in our IFB Churches say that the Baptist were here long before the Catholic Reformation. Therefore, the Baptists (or ana-baptist) are not of the Protestants movement of the Catholic Church (Baptist were here approx. 1200 years before the Protestant Reformation). These preachers say the breakoffs of the Catholic church include many denominatio…

I'm looking for someone who can help me learn how to sign John 3:16. My Sunday school class has it as it's memory verse this term. They are aged 2 - 9 and instead of just reciting it at the end of the term I thought I'd teach them to sign it. We usually make up actions but I thought we might try to sign it properly. I have found a utube lesson on it but they don't use the KJV and even though I know it makes a difference in the written language I'm not sure how it translates into sign. If anyone could help, I'd be most grateful. Thanks Blossom

This is TOO funny! Came across this while browsing. It appears to be a Christian Mac Users Group site. Go HERE and to almost to the bottom of the page. You'll find a cartoon. You'll find "visitors at the door" with a copy of "MacTower" book (Watchtower) and what looks like a Chick Tract that says "Windows Hell." Anyone read Spanish???? I assume these are "Mac Evangelists"??

Is anyone else on here afraid to read the news lately? I glanced at the fox news home page today which was littered with our gov't asking for "tattle tales" on "healthcare misinformation" and a whole slew of articles on H1N1 and possible gov't over-reaction to such. Terrorism occupied what little space was left. My inbox has been inundated with e-mails from various conservative sources as well as from our gov't on healthcare issues, the recent judge Sotomayor confirmation etc. Every day it seems it is all just escalating. At church, everyone is mostly silent, as it seems on here.

Last night the Online Baptist Ladies message boards was successfully converted over to MyBB. I do not believe that any data was lost and that all posts and private messages have been converted over. Besides the software changing you will notice that the boards moved over to the Online Baptist domain. http://onlinebaptistladies.com will still work, but now redirects you to http://onlinebaptist.com/ladies. I still have to add a prayer request widget and few other little things. Please post now anything you would like to add. I am locking this topic, so any questions/support regarding this topic should be posted at the following link. http://www.onlinebaptist.com/m…

A Parable in the Key of F Feeling footloose and frisky, a foolish fellow forced his father to fork over his fourth of the family farthings and flew far to a foreign field where he fast frittered his fathers fortune feasting foolishly with faithless friends. Fleeced by his fellows and folly, and facing famine he found himself a feed flinger in a filthy farm. Flushed and fairly famished he fain would have filled his frame with foraged food from farm fodder. "My father's flunkies fair far finer." The frazzled fugitive forlornly fumbled. Frustrated and filled with forboding, he fled forthwith to his father. Falling to his father's feet he forlornly fumbled, "Father, I ha…

I just read some disturbing information. I was rather shocked. I will not link to the forum but I was reading a thread in another Christian site. The people have no Christ-like attitude. They call each other whores and other nasty names. One thread a girl said she was looking for a Christian guy. She would move just to meet him. One guy said he was a TV Evangelist and his wife might leave him soon since he can

I found this link online and thought others here might like it as well. It is scans of each page of the AV1611! I thought it was pretty cool. Hope everyone likes it. (Please, this is not intended to be a debate over the KJV but simply a tool or just for plain enjoyment.) "It is a truth which will hardly be contested, that Christianity, whenever it has at all prevailed, has raised the general standard of morals to a height before unknown." A PRACTICAL VIEW OF THE PREVAILING RELIGIOUS SYSTEM OF PROFESSED CHRISTIANS, IN THE HIGHER AND MIDDLE CLASSES IN THIS COUNTRY, CONTRASTED WITH REAL CHRISTIANITY. William Wilberforce, M.DCC.XCVII. (1797?) In the context of our own examples in society.

A pastor on an email group I belong to has written a book and needs help with editing, syntax, etc. I am wondering if there are any English teachers or anyone good with language that would be willing to help him? If so I'll supply his info.
