Judges 6 In Judges 6 and verses 25-33, we see the story of Gideon, and his zeal in casting down the altars of Baal. A close reading of this passage reveals many interesting things that we could use in our daily walk with our Lord. First, we see the command to

Sensational Argument!

Does sensationalism and argument rule your conversation and your comments? Do worldly events take more of your thoughts than seeking to know more about the Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit or, God's Word? 2 Corinthians 1:12 For our rejoicing is this, the testimony of our conscience, that in simplicity and godly sincerity, not with fleshly wisdom, but by the grace of God, we have had our conversation in the world, and more abundantly to you-ward. Philippians 3:20 For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ: Hebrews 13:5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye hav…

I like buying stuff on Craigslist sometimes. But I just have to gripe that they drive me nuts sometimes! People advertising stuff "Bought for $1000..selling for only $750!!! Well good grief, I hope you are selling it for less, since you used it for five years! Who cares what you paid for it, you are now selling USED stuff. When its USED it no longer has NEW value! Gracious. I shake my head all the time at the prices people try putting on their old used junk.

In an effort to discover our (OB members) favorite commentator I'd like to run a series of weekly polls. I'll begin by listing two commentators and you'll vote and comment on you favorite. This will run for a week. Next Tuesday I'll pit the winner against another "challenger." When you vote, make a comment or two and also suggest "commentators" for future votes. For those making suggestions: A "commentator" can be anyone who "expounds" on the Scriptures. It does not have to be someone who has written a large commentary set! However, it should be someone that is generally know.

I tried this before but didn't keep up with it. I'll try to do better this time around but it won't be everyday that I post a word. If you read a word in a post here on OB and you do not know the definition, please post it here. We can all increase our vocabulary together. (I know, most of you are saying, "How boring!") I'll start with a word Annie used yesterday: Milieu - the physical or social setting in which something occurs or develops My point had nothing to do with anyone's ignorance, but rather with their unwillingness to exist in a milieu where their ideas can be addressed from a different perspective-- Here's one that dh loves and apparently …
