I have an 11 year old son in public school unfortunately that is doing his best to do what God wants in his life. He is haveing a rough time with some of the kids in his class. For example today a kid was told he could get some play money they use to purchase things from a school store and my son saw him take 100 instead of ten as he was told, I myself would think of this as steeling, my son also saw it this way and finally told the teacher about it and of course he was ridiculed and put down for it. This is just one example of where he is strugling, Please pray for him to have the strength to continue to do the right things. If you have any suggestions or comments for…

My oldest brother (and oldest sister) are not Christian, though they claim to be, and we sometimes have problems with them. Today, Paul (oldest bro) called Vadim (my other older bro) and asked him to bring a subwoofer over that he was planning to buy. Vadim came over to Paul's friend's house where Paul was at the time. Paul's friend came out of the house and kept trying to invite Vadim in for a drink (Vodka), and Vadim kept refusing so they started getting all (not sure how to describe it) on Vadim, so Vadim just took off. In the evening, Paul kept trying to call Vadim, but Vadim wasn't picking up, so he called home and had my mom give Vadim the phone. Paul started "apol…

Hi, I have only been a member for a couple of months, so many may not know me. I am a carpenter by trade. I am not a person who can just sit around. My wife gets onto me for doing things while I am sick. Anyway, yesterday I went to an auction. While looking at stuff I stooped down by bending my knees. When I went to get up I was in pain. That is not an easy thing for me to say, I guess you would call that pride LOL. I managed through the day, and bought a heavy blade for my tractor. My dad and I loaded it onto a trailor by hand, jack, comealong. I got home and set down, and started hurting worse. My wife went to rub my knee and said it felt like it was out of joint. About…

A guy from our church, Aleksandr Plugavoy, 24, was riding his motocycle on Tuseday, Oct 9, when somebody on a Lexus ran into him and killed him. Everyone who knew Aleksandr says he was an extremely nice guy; for example, he used to like to take care of the yard at our old church building and he would mow his friends' lawns and things like that when they weren't home and didn't want anything in return. He liked doing nice things for people. About 4 months ago, his brother-in-law (his older sister's husband) died, and now Aleksandr died. So, obviously, it's really hard for his parents now; he was the only boy in the family and he had two sisters. Aleksandr's dad wasn't Chri…

While we are here in Iowa visiting my FIL, my wife's uncle (who has alhizmer's - sp), had a very bad night. He got a fever of 109. He is in a nursing home already because of how advanced he is. As my wife was leaving the nursing home today, a worker there asked if they new he was dying, and from the sounds of it he will not last long. Sorry for the randomness of this post, but he need prayer for comfort and for the comfort of the family.

A bad storm is quickly moving into our area. It has been billed as the worse storm of 2007. Several tornadoes are expected, and very high winds, lots of rain, etc. Please pray for protection. Thanks!

OK, this is kinda a long story, but here goes: I'm the only one from our family who currently has a job and I'm making only enough to cover house payments and bills. So my brother, after workin a few jobs and quiting after a few weeks on each one, decided to open a business with two "friends". They got a loan for ~$26.5k from one of the friend's brother and bought a load of electronics and stuff to sell. The guys didn't want to do any of the work; my brother was doing all the selling and they told him to give all the money to them, supposedly so they could start paying off the dept. So my brother descided to buy the whole load and do it all himself, so now we'll have…

My friend Kathy has a very important decision to make and needs prayer for wisdom in making that decision. She has been feeling tired lately not getting enough restorative rest because of Fibromyalgia so I am sure its hard for her to think about this decision when she is fatigued. I am adding to her request for prayers for her to be fully rested and have a clear and energized mind when she is also thinking on this decision. thanks all

This forum is, or should be, one of the most important ones on OB. This is where brothers and sisters in Christ come to share their burdens with one another and request intercessory prayer. Scripture commands that we are to pray for one another. We know our fervent prayers avail much. I know some people look at the posts in this forum and pray without responding but I think a response is appropriate. If one were to look at the requests in this forum there could be the perception that we don't have the time to pray for one another or we simply don't care. Look at how many requests show 20, 30 or more people viewed them, but only one or a few people bother…

but my husband does not want to go to it He says he didn't like the shouting .He told me that he liked my old pastor, because he didn't shout all the time like this one did. I told him Most pastors shout, even my son told him that lol But I like the pastor, he seem to really devoted to the Lord. Also, He does prison witnessing and things like that. The children there are great. But I can't go because my husband have Sundays off and he rather if I go to church with him... and he prefer southern baptist churches.

From our homeschool email list... This is a large, homeschooling family that we first met years ago at the free Karate classes offered by another church. I'm not sure exactly how many kids they have, but it seemed there were quite a few. They are now in our Sunday School class, and are really nice people.

Wow - I am really sick!! I have been sick on and off for the last week and a half. Yesterday I stayed home with a horrible migraine most of the day, some dizziness, and badly aching joints. I thought I was better today - until I went out for a bit. Now I feel like I am burning up, sweating and shaky, lightheaded, really weak. I walked a block for some pizza (so I had some food in the house, in case I was still sick tomorrow) - and that about did me in! I really hate to complain or post prayer requests unless I really need them - I think I need some now. Glad I got the pizza, but the sweat is just pouring off of me, and I am really shaky right now.

My FIL is having an angiogram done today. He had one 10 years ago and had a heart attack during the procedure. (I guess if you are going to have a heart attack, the best time to do it is when you are surrounded by doctors.) His doctor asked him if he had a living will prepared a couple of days ago. My MIL is nervous about this right now. My wife is feeling sick - we had to leave church last night since she was feeling so sick. We are traveling to Iowa tomorrow to be with my wife's family to celebrate my youngest son's 1st birthday (which is today), and to be with my FIL and MIL during this time.

Hello all; I earnestly desire your prayers. While I preached last time; a professing satan worshipper came and destroyed my preaching sign (he threw it in the park's fountain and then a bunch of the youth stomped on it) The police came and asked me to leave for fear of my safety. I waited till the police left and the satan worshipper and continued to preach a few more times. When I went home my father overhead my phone call describing the events. The next day my father asked me to stop street preaching (in fear of my saftety), but I told him I must continue to preach. My father then attacked me and afterwards went upstairs and destroyed my preaching signs. A…

Our finances had been hold since Linda lost her job. I had some income from a site I was managing, plus freelance and advertising income from other jobs. But The main site I'm managing will not be able to contnue paying me after this month, and I'm having a very difficult time getting freelance clients to pay a reasonable ammount, when I can get them to pay at all. I'm owed quite a bit from several clients, and really have no way of collecting. We have enough in the bank to last us a couple of weeks, which means even if I were to find a regular job immediately, would be cutting it impossibly close. Linda feels guilty when she's not at home, but due to a lot of issues f…

Please pray for me as I have been given a great responsibility. I was named Deacon at my church this last Sunday. One of the first two our church has ever had. Please pray that God blesses this new journey in ministry and that I remember and keep a servant's heart and do all for the Glory of Jesus Christ.

Pray for new churches to be started and for pastors to be replaced. Many of the pastors around New England are struggling one way or another too Spirtually, Emotionally and Physically. It seems like in the last 3 years here in New England we are seeing a vast amount of pastors leaving the pastorate to go work in a Baptist college. We are lacking strong, energetic preachers and new churches in New England. Please pray for these churches to find pastors. Please pray for New England and the rest of the country ---we are seeing a crisis and an attack on churches!

We received word last night that our former church in Plain City, Ohio (Pleasant Valley Baptist Chapel) will be holding their final service on Sunday morning. This is still a young church but has quickly died in the last year. If you look on a map of the central Ohio area you will find Plain City. After tomorrow there will not be an independent baptist church between northern Columbus and Deleware,Ohio. Please pray that the doors will be reopened in this area. Because of the Cross, Bob Wilson

I have a sister-in-law that's in Russia and another in Vietnam. We have a private message board for the family to communicate with, which helps keep everyone together, but the one in Vietnam has to be very careful with what comes across. She warned us about certain words, but many in the family have already frgotten. Last night i worked on a filter that would change word to those that are more appropriate for Christians working in Christian-hostile nations. So "pray" is changed to "think", "pray for" to "think about", "God" to "DAD", etc. I then installed a database with all the IP ranges for the various nations and when my sister-in-law in vietnam visits the board, the m…
