Yesterday I took my wife and son out soulwinning for our church's weekly visitation and we had such a great time! We went around a new neighborhood knocking on doors and giving out the gospel. We of course had some polite "please go away" interactions and even some scowls, but we also had the opportunity to lead two young men to Christ right there on their front porches. Praise God that He didn't allow me to get discouraged and kept me knocking. I'm always encourged and so glad to know that He is still in the business of saving souls!

For she did not know that I gave her corn, and wine, and oil, and multiplied her silver and gold, which they prepared for Baal. (Hosea 2:8) How many of us spent much of our lives in the same state as these? I know I did. I didn’t know that all the blessings around me, and that were given me were from the Lord; I was “my own man” and made things happen MY way, or so I thought. I had given my life to the false gods of this world, lust; materialism; humanism, oh, I had many gods, but like so many others, I did not recognize THE God, the Most High, the Almighty God. I thank Him with all my heart that He reached out to me in spite of myself, and saved me. His lov…

I just love sitting in the choir loft and being able to see the lights turn on for people. Yesterday as I was scanning the crowd when the pastor was wrapping up the message and preparing for the invitation, I noticed a lady sitting in our deaf ministry section. She was a little wiggly and seemed to be getting antsy. The pastor did the whole "every eye closed, every head bowed" while asking if there was anyone who didn't know they were saved (leaving out details for brevity). She raised her hand high with enthusiasm. As soon as the pastor prayed and opened up the invitation, she darted down the aisle to one of our altar workers. When she realized he didn't know sign …

I ask this in Jesus name amen.

We had a teen girl get saved this past Sunday morning!!!! Last Summer our youth group really exploded and we've had a bunch of new teens coming pretty faithfully. But just in the last month or so it feels like we've kinda hit our first slump and I've been doing more praying than every individually for each teen and for the group as a whole. Last week I started praying even more specifically for our teens so it was really exciting and encouraging to see the salvation of this particular girl. She said she'd been wanting to for months! You just never know how the Lord is working in hearts. It's so wonderful to see Him moving. :-) Praise the Lord!

I grew up in an educated Christian home. My parents had rooted their lives in ministry and I had been baptized when I was younger and accepted Christ. We lived in Hampton, Virginia. My father had left his position at a church as a pastor there and we had moved to Richmond, Virginia. There was always stress in my household, and not much reasoning behind it. We had financial issues and it seemed as time went on our family strayed from our faith. Parallel to that our love for each other faded over time. We would stop vacationing together, and eventually we even stopped eating at the dinner table together. At night we would recycle the same prayer "Now I lay me down to sleep"…

Thank you Jesus for saving me, for giving me grace when I didn't then and don't now deserve it. Thank you for my wife and children, for their salvations, for my church, and for the Christian education being provided for them. Lord, I know not why I'm always sick and injured, unable to work away from home, forcing my wife to. I don't mind being poor after having squandered the riches you gave me when I was not saved but now we have nothing, not even soap, are behind in everything, and I know you're good and will never forsake us, yet I worry for my household. Please forgive my sin of worry Lord, I think we have just enough gas to make it for Sunday School and Morning …

Our pastor was blessed to baptise five born again believers in Christ today. By the grace of God, one was his own grandson! Praise God for five souls who were once lost but are now in Christ and followed through with public profession of faith and believers baptism.

I'm told that stress brings on shingles, if you ever had chicken pox. Apparently I had chicken pox as a child. And with the year that we've had, apparently my body was pretty stressed out. Because 4 weeks ago, shingles broke out. On my eye and along the nerve line that goes from my right temple up to the right side of my forehead, and over the right half of my scalp. Talk about pain! But, praise the Lord, the outbreak was actually minor in comparison to so many. We use a lot of natural products, and since I hadn't been feeling well for a few days prior to the break out (didn't know what was coming...), I had been taking some anti-virals. We believe that had a…

Wow. I haven't typed 1990anything in a long time. That looks weird! lol But to the topic at hand. :-) My dad was saved the year I was born though he didn't do a whole lot of growing for years, often not even coming to church with us. And though my mom didn't get saved until I was 13 I was still raised in a "Christian" home per se. We went to church faithfully, were even involved in some activities. So I did the Christian kid "thing" and made a profession of faith when I was 5 or 6. I vaguely remember it but mostly just as an interesting story. lol As I grew up and hit my preteens I was anything but secure about my Salvation though I didn't really think about it as som…

This past Sunday night, my youngest son, Jonathan, was baptized. The heater in the baptistry was not working, but he didn't care - he wanted to get baptized. He sure was shivering when he came out of the water!

Answered Prayers

Acts 16:31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. Many of you know my heart's prayer has been for my family to attend church services with me. My wife and granddaughter now attend with me. My eldest son now has a KJV and is attending a local IB Church in San Angelo, Tx. Psalms 27:14 Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD. I can only praise God for this. My part was to be faithful in prayer to Him. Now, I wait on Him to show me what is next.

Bless the Lord Bless His Holy name; “Bless the Lord, oh my soul, and all that is within me, bless His Holy name”. He has lifted me from the pit of despair, and rooted me from the depths of despond; He has quickened me again in His Word, and has filled me again with His Spirit. He has taken me from the abyss of doldrums to the clouds, and still set my feet upon solid ground. Bless His Holy name. I set out to search His Word, with a tragic heart and in a fit of depression, and He lifted me up. He gently lifted me through His beloved Word, and graciously set me down on solid ground again. So gentle, and yet so firm, His hand, and such compassion I have never know…

Praise God for preserving my home through last night's ice storm. The trees are bowed to the ground and electric lines are covered in ice our heat and lights are still on. How easily a puff from God's breath could cause a branch or tree to fall and we would be without heat or power. Thank God for his mercy on me and my family although we are undeserving of His grace.

I edited this testimony in 2006. It was originally written in 2000. Testimony of Linda E. Robey I was born and raised in a reform Jewish home in Cleveland, Ohio. We lived in a Roman Catholic neighborhood, where the Jewish community was called “Christ Killers”. So, for many years, I believed that Roman Catholicism was the standard for Christianity-the Virgin Mary was a nun, and Jesus Christ was a Roman Catholic priest. As a matter of fact, the Jewish people commonly used the name of Jesus Christ as a swear word. It would be years later I would learn that all Gentiles were not “Christians”. In 1974, I lived in Loveland, CO, across the road from a lady who had…

My Testimony by Rev. Ronald W. Robey I was born on Wednesday September 9th, 1959 in Tagiuria, Libya, Africa to American parents. My Dad was stationed at the Wheelus Air Base in Tripoli, Libya. On Christmas day of 1960 my father drowned in the Mediterranean Sea while trying out a new scuba diving outfit that his buddies in his barracks had bought him for Christmas that year. By January 1960, mother brought me, my twin sister, and my three brothers to the United States. We lived for a period of time at my aunts and uncles in Oakton Virginia. In 1962, we moved to Manassas Park Virginia. We lived in Manassas Park for three years and then moved to another suburb of Manass…

Mywife and I have always had terrible visits with her parents. They are RC, and Maggie no longer is. I am not RC either (obviously, it would seem. Thank God.) We see them about once a year, and we have prayed each time for open doors of utterance, patience, etc. But this last week end we had asked a prayer request at the church for "a good visit". It was the best it has ever been. The best Maggie has had with them since she was about 8. They were happy and friendly, even after they drove 4 days back home. Lessons for me: get specific about what to pray for and get the other believers praying and believing with you. After all, they are believers, so they should …

I told one of my friends this and I thought I would share with you all; I failed miserably today. Once again I was planning to witness and I felt led to witness to one of my old friends. So I sent them a message and they didn't answer.. and as I was about to log off after praying for what to do next he replied. But the conversation didn't go as I expected. and I could not decide what to say and ended up not witnessing; because I lost focus and started to fear.. Even after even the extra push of him answering me after I had prayed.. How little faith I often have.. As its not what I say but God working through it.. Yet knowing this I still stumble.. Then I listened to a se…

God surely has been good to us. I truly can see His hand work in our lives abundantly. He has provided at every turn while we've been traveling, He has worked His will in our lives. There were times when things didn't go as planned and it was frustrating but in the end it worked out for the better because it was His will. Sometimes it's been hard to trust Him when the flesh gets in the way but it's getting easier to put our faith in Him as He continues to show us He really is working in our lives. Just wanted to share that small bit about our travels. We've finally arrived to Maryland. We asked God to provide a place to stay that would be somewhere we could call h…
