My name is David...I am a blood bought, truth taught, King James Bible reading, Independent, Fundamental, born-again believing Baptist. I am unusual because I believe strictly what the Bible says and not what man-kind and or the Christian church commonly preaches. I do not believe or celebrate Christmas or Easter because both originate from paganism and God tells us in His Word not to love the world or learn the ways of the heathen.

Hi, I'm Flip, got my nick from my aunt when I was little and so use it on the net.. not much to say about myself, I love Church, was in one for 10 years almost without missing, have a great Preacher there, but don't live in the town anymore, I'm living where we don't have a good Church so I'm very lonely without a Church Home. Hi all, I'm turning my back on my teenaged profligacy, and the liberal excesses of my past. Time for a new start - and I'm deeply involved in my local baptist church. I wanted to keep an open mind and become immersed in the most wholesome teachings I can find. That's why I'm here. I know I have a lot to learn, and I can take criticism. Hi everyone. I've been a member quite awhile. I don't post a lot, but visit quite often. Been stopping in daily lately to read Jerry's Devotional (a great blessing) and the prayer requests. I was just browsing done through this forum, reading some of the intro's. Rather than trying to respond to so many, tho't I'd just post a general welcome to you all. Ohio had a trifecta President Trump, Senator Moreno (R) replaced Brown (D), and NO on issue 1! From what I hear the nation also has a trifecta of republicans for president, senate, and house. I hope the opportunity isn't squandered. -
Many years ago I came across a sermon an IB preacher named Gary Dice when he visited Australia, and from memory he was preaching on this passage, or at least referencing it. He sang a slightly silly song about this section of Romans 7, but I have never been able to find any reference to it anywhere else. I would appreciate it if anyone has heard of it and could give me a reference or link to it, or best case, the sheet music. I know there are many songs that come up when you do a google search, but none of them have been the one I am looking for. It has the words almost direct from the KJV, not just something loosely based on that text. Thanks folks. -

I also noticed he seems quieter, perhaps more humble this time. But even last time I had come to view his particular tendency to boast as just having an immensely positive attitude. He's also careful to thank others and to offer credit where credit is due, while having no compunctions about calling out anyone who deserves none. -

Just to clarify on the repenting God did when Israel turned from their evil ways. The thing here is that their turning from evil ways here is called... works. So since salvation isnt by works ..and turning from evils ways IS works.. hence the issue with repent meaning 'turn from sin'. So there is what I was meaning. -

Thankfully the pastors I know NEVER STOPPED preaching the gospel. Remember, TGL, they're to preach the whole counsel of God, not just salvation messages. And just to be clear, preaching messages that promote conservative, Biblical values is imperative. Maybe one should let the Holy Spirit guide in what these pastors preach, eh?
