There is a restaurant in Gatlinburg TN called the Greensbrier that used to be a log cabin in in the 1930's. in the 1940's a young girl got stood up at the alter and came back to the cabin and went to the rafters and hung herself. Three days later her fiance was found in the woods in the mountain mauled by a mountain cat and they say it was this young girl spirit that got the cat to do that. Ever since then her Spirit been linkering in this resturant that used to be an in on top of a mountain in the smokies.
Don't want to seem like I am insane or anything but my sister just went there a few weeks ago and took a few pictures and it looks like in a few that it's her roaming. My sister's 10 year old was freezing cold and feeling very tingly when her mom was saying the ghosts name.

The bible is clear that the Spirits of the dead go to either heaven or hell. They do not walk the earth. Some demons walk the earth, but I am inclined to think this is just a case of legend/imagination.

Amen, and when people are around places and hear such stories their immigrations can do wonders. I recall how those scary stories that grandmother use to tell me made me feel, sometimes the hair would stand up on the backside of my neck. But I loved set in her lap and hear them and grandmother loved to tell them.

Do you think it is right to tell a child such stories? Not condemning, just wondering. I am inclined to think not, because it instills undue fear and a draw to fear. People or kids begin to crave the excitement of fear from these things. Kinda like the slasher movies or doing dares and things. To me this kind of thing leads up to the above mentioned. I have been told at times, I am over protective of my children, but this has been told me by people I don't take much stock in their opinion because they are not close to the Lord. Can I get an opinion here?

I was asking if you heard about this place in Gatlinburg not your opinion in scary stores LOL.

Thanks for being so blunt. I read it and the question that came up in my mind and I decided to ask it. Sorry for thinking this was an open forum I can ask questions from christians on.

KJVKayBeliever does not seem to like you asking this question and probably will not like me answering it, but I think its a very good point to discuss.

No, and I would not do so, but that is my opinion about what is right for me to do with my daughter when she was young. I must say I loved to set in my grandmothers lap and hear the stories she had to tell. I would beg for her to tell me another one. As far as I'm concerned it was right for grandmother to do so. She loved me with all of her heart and would have done nothing that would hurt or harm me.

And thanks for saying these words, "Not condemning, just wondering."

The images in the picture could be tricks of light. That often happens and people take it for something else.

It could also be a demon. As was mentioned, spirits of people don't roam the earth. But demons do falsely portray them. Extreme cold is one of the signs that they are near. I would say that your sister shouldn't be trying to call a ghost up, especially with your niece there - but I don't think your sister is saved, is she KJVK? I can't remember. If she isn't, then she probably does believe that the spirit of this girl is there.

elijahruth - I agree that scary stories shouldn't be told to children...God tells us that He hasn't given us the spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind: telling spooky stories to children creates a climate of fear and can do one of two things: make children fearful to the point where they can be afraid of things through life; or, two = create in them a desire to hear and see more of it, thus drawing them into the occult - sometimes without them even realizing it's the occult. I'm not saying that always happens, but it can and does. I've seen it with members of my own family.

I was going to agree with LuAnne...that coldness can be a sign of demonic presence. Nothing to mess with.

LuAnne, how do you know this? (Just curious, not trying to be nosy or to make any particular point.)

Yes I do believe it's a demon at that restaurant plus, what my friend was going through that I lost due to religious disputes she speaks to many demons and feels them. I don't have any pictures of what my sister took but, my husband said next time we are in Gatlinburg we are going for supper and I am going to see if I can feel something. I can feel these things. I hope i don't seem like I am a nut but I been feeling these things for 20 years or so.
I am not sure how they found out about the Greenbrier Restaurant however, it seems like they had a nice time. My sister is Catholic but not sure what all she believes because had some disputes.
