Got the yard mowed yet again. I pulled the mower up on some ramps afterward and gave the deck a good cleaning.

Getting bloodwork today was a literal pain! They couldn't find veins in my arms so they went to my right hand, poked two holes and twisted the needle around for nothing. Then went to my left hand and poked a hole and twisted some more. Finally they managed to find another vein to try in my left hand and actually got the needle in.

When I was in my teens and 20s my veins stood out clear and were easy to get blood from. Now they have sunk and like to hide.

Usually one of the younger girls tries to draw my blood, she fails and then calls the older lady in to get the blood. Considering they know by now it's difficult to get my blood I don't know why they don't send the older lady to begin with.

Can't you just insist on having a more experienced nurse right off the bat? Enough's enough when they're hurting you that much...

I know how it is, it can get very bad, I've had this move that BIG needle around very fast, chasing afther by vein, yet not catching it, it leaves a very bad looking place on the arm, & the older we get, the worse it will look.

Thank goodness, the ones at the VA that does this is great.

Jerry, I don't know for sure, but I suspect that hardware/software upgrades and migrations have taken their toll on the database over all these years. I'm surprised, in a sense, that any thread would have survived this long. That said....

Suspect there's quite a few, just hanging around, till they get their reward, as we'll all winners in Christ. I kinda like the idea of this thread, as it symbolizes marking X's on a calendar, counting down the days till.......

either He calls us home or He comes to get us.

In the meantime, there's mo grass to be cut, taters to be dug, and maters to be tasted as this summer moves along.

Here, we're blessed with a beautiful early summer day with almost perfect (in human terms) temperature and humidity. A day to enjoy, for all it's worth, before the reality of most summers in NC sets in to stay awhile.

It's getting dark and I can hear a few night birds. I've been enjoying the sun coming up earlier in the morning because the birds are now singing loud and pretty when I get up!
