My mom asked me to post a prayer request about my dad here. In the old thread I wrote about how he was, well, doing things he shouldn't, how he later became really sick, and how we later found out that he has cancer.

So, an update on the situation: We are trying something that should help fight the cancer (sorry, can't give any details here), but so far the results are small. While it does seem to help somewhat with keeping the pain down a little (without using pain medication) and maintaining a good blood pressure, heart rate, etc. (something that's pretty rare in this stage of cancer, it should be jumping up and down a lot, so I was told by the nurse) he has still lost a lot weight, and he's extremely weak, and that part seems to be getting worse gradually.

It's still a bit hard to tell if he's saved because people with cancer often get a sort of a depression and the way they act changes quite a bit. I'd like to believe he is though, because his attitude seems to have changed quite a bit towards the better despite the usual effects cancer has on a persons attitude.

As for the request: He wants to be healed and to preach again like he used to before we came to the USA. He says he wants to serve God and that he doesn't want to leave Earth after so many years of doing nothing good. We know that God is capable of healing my dad even in this late stage of cancer if it is God's will and that God knows how sincere my dad's will to serve the Lord is. So please help us pray for God's will to be done here. Thanks.

Thank you. From everyone in our family, I'm sort of in the best mood, and I try to keep everybody else's mood up, but lately I've been sort of failing in that with my mom. She's taking it the hardest. :sad

You didn't fail. That's just the way some people are, so there's no need to try hard. You can help your mom around the house though, like taking the trash out for her or something. Stress can make it harder for a person to deal with illness of their loved ones. I know, I have been there when I took my mom in to care for her for 6 months.

Yeah, I'm doing most of the work my dad used to do around the house and I help my mom with her's as well.
