Corn on the cob is delicious! I actually love the white corn on the cob from the vendors the hispanic people serve. It is white corn with plenty of butter, parmesan cheese and Chiptole pepper. Mmmmmmm...I'm thinking about getting some after work today.

Don't anyone flame me, but corn is actually a grain, not a true vegetable. :Bolt:

That posted, I still love it, in most of its forms (except for yucky High-fructose corn syrup :gross: ).

We like white corn even though it is somewhat bland by comparison to yellow corn.

My wife and I prefer yellow corn, because it has more rich corn flavor. My all-time favorite variety is still Iochief, even after fifty-five years of growing it. :lol

I agree -- yellow corn is more flavorful than white. I don't like blue corn, though -- I guess it's an acquired taste, and I don't really care to acquire it. :lol

The husband of a friend of my mother-in-law's was on a diet that restricted his intake of "white" foods (white rice, flour, sugar, potatoes, etc.). The motto was: "If it's white it ain't right." I thought that was funny at the time, but the more I read the more I'm convinced that "white" foods aren't all that great for us (with the possible exception of milk :wink ).

Milk really isn't good for you either. If you think about it, you are drinking milk that is for a newborn cow. That's like drinking dog milk or something. lol The only thing is the calcium and I can get just as much calcium from the cereal I pour it on just about. :frog

That's why I put that word "possible" in there. I wasn't thinking of the pasteurized/homogenized milk that's widely available in the stores. I was thinking of raw milk, but we could start a whole other thread on that if we had a mind to. :wink Ever hear of the Weston A. Price Foundation, and the Campaign for Real Milk?

BTW, what do dogs have to do with this?

Tomatoes are not vegetables either - they are a fruit.

That's right ma'am, they are. :wink So are peppers (both sweet and :fireball: (<---hot) ). :lol
