1The LORD is my shepherd;*


I shall not want.

He leadeth me beside the still waters.

4Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil;*

Thou anointest my head with oil;

"Awake, thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead,
and Christ shall give thee light."*

15See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,* 16redeeming the time, because the days are evil. 17Therefore, be ye not unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is. 18And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess;* but be filled with the Spirit, 19speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord, 20giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, 21submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.

I stopped counting of the new versions because it was driving me nuts I stopped at the New Century's Bible and the Message Bible. Since I was raised on NKJV I am stuff with it but I am mostly King James only person.

I really don't have huge problems with some of the new versions, but I think it is the atittude behind the people pushing these versions. They say we need all new ways and that the KJV is old and dated. These are the same people who push new music and want to unite with everyone who call themselves christians.

Tired, if you ever want to know why we don't like the MVs, there are tons of threads in this forum. The biggest issue is the fact that they are translated from other manuscripts (manuscripts that have been changed or corrupted), but the issue of the apostasy of many of the MV translators or editors is important as well (ie. for example, how can an unsaved heretic or sodomite or Unitarian really translate God's Word rightly, when the Holy Spirit is not giving them understanding?).
