Do any of you go to false teaching message boards such as Catholics, Pentecostals, Jehovah Witnesses for the purpose of correcting them?

I ask this because of the recent invasion of RCC members on this message board.

I don't. Just as I don't go to false teaching churches on Sunday morning to try and correct them, to me that would be an improper way to go about it, besides my place on Sunday morning is in my home church.

A long time back I went to a United Pentecostal Board, lurked in the background and read numerous post, but I did not jump in and tell them how wrong they were. I really don't think I would have been welcomed or appreciated.

No, I don't. but I do go to other christian boards.

I don't relate message boards as a church gathering though.I relate message board as... well as message board. It's meant to be open to the public , especially lurkers to read. If not, they can set it as private. So when bromatt set his board to public, he is actually inviting everyone to read and even sign up to post. If a message board have a rules, I'll follow it.

No I don't have the time and I don't care to. I am not convinced that "online" witnessing does much good, but I do know that witnessing in person does the world of good.

Amen! I go to a few other "christian" boards but don't see the point in posting, most people wont change doctrine just because some person on the internet shows them they are wrong.

Before I found OB, I used to go to a website that claimed to be a Christian website - anytime someone posted a falsehood and I used scripture teachings to challenge that belief I was labeled a TROUBLEMAKER untiI I was eventually banned. They are still there, just as empty headed and full of themselves as they ever where and quite happy to be rid of me. It makes me kind of sad in a way to see people who live lives of delusion as they do.

I agree for the most part, but I nearly had a cofC convicted that one is saved by grace thru faith, not being baptized into the cofC. He came to a Baptist message board and we were friends for several months. I had his home e-mail addy and he mine and we had exchange several e-mails off of the board. The one day I sent him a private e-mail questioning his salvation by baptizing. For 4 or 5 days we exchanged many e-mails on this subject, he asked me many questions. Them all of a sudden he turned on me like a rattle snake. After that when I tried to send him a private e-mail it would bounce back to me. On the Baptist message board we were posting on anything he said about me was extremely harsh and he would not reply to me. Seems he was competely avoiding me.

I understand all messages boards set up like this one are public and that actually anyone can join them.

But I chose not to join message boards that are not Baptist, I just don't care about debating the false teachers, at the same time I feel its impolite to join a message board for say the cofC and start telling them they're wrong, I just don't feel anything good would come of it.

I also think it's a respect thing ya know. I know you don't appreciate it when a group such as the Catholics crash on OB so it wouldn't be right to go on their board. Even though they are wrong it's not polite.

Years ago I used to post on the BB and the FFF. That is when I saw the need for a site like OB.

I've been on those sites before. You did the right thing Bro Matt! :thumb
