The hospital has laptops for people to use as they are waiting for their person in surgery. Well, my hubby is there right now. I would appreciate your prayers for safety through the surgery (2 1/2 hours!) and recovery. Thanks.

Surgery is over....3 1/2 hours later. It went well, thank the Lord. Now the doc is thinking he will keep him overnight instead of outpatient. Appreciate any and all prayers.

Thanks for the prayers!!! He is doing much better today, although still in a bunch of pain.
Walking is still hard for him, but he was picking up the speed this morning. We know that the Lord has been answering prayers.
dadof4 - he had a couple of hernias that had to be repaired.

I will keep your hubby in prayer for a speedy recovery. :pray A couple hernias sounds very painful. I had a "Right Inguinal Hernia" operation in 2001. It went very smoothly. I pray the same for your hubby...HappyChristian. May Our Lord and Saviour be with both of you today and always.

Thank you!! He had bilateral - both right and left. The right one was as big as a baseball, and took an hour longer than the doc thought it would. I am so thankful that we got it taken care of.

Tell him to go easy. I remember after I had a golf-ball sized growth removed from the bottom of my foot, both my wife and sister were nagging at me to "walk it off" when I tried to explain that I couldn't get around as well.

Ew - I would think that something removed from the foot would mean Not to walk it off, rather than to walk!!!

He is taking it easy. Today is by far the best day he's had. He is able to walk for short distances, and is thinking he will try and do some work (no lifting or strain) tomorrow, depending on how he feels. I am actually the one who is discouraging him from doing much more than just walking as the doctor ordered. :Green I really don't like to see him in pain. His being down has been so rare in the years that we've been married that it bothers me. I'm sure it bothers him, too. But God is good, and we can see improvement daily. Even his voice sounds stronger.

I recall when I had my 2nd neck surgery February 2000, that evening in the hospital about 9:00 PM I was hurting. I got Linda to help me out of bed, I was going to walk to try and overcome the pain and keep from getting another pain shot.

I made it about halfway down the hall and it got much worse instead of better, had to wheel chair me back to the room and call the nurse for a pain shot, for I was even hurting worse them than I was when I started the walk.

Hey, I'm doing right good, the reason being is I know its going to get so much better, we all who have Christ as our Savior have so much to look forward to.

Of course for those who might be like me that don't have no hope in Christ, this is as good as its going to get for them, in fact it will get much worse for them.

I was a member of about 2 health support groups, anytime I would say something like this, I would either get threatened to be thrown out and are just plain kicked out. Seems they welcomed any self support but would not welcome any godly support.

Hope your hubby keeps getting better.
