An older man in our church went to Heaven this weekend. The funeral was today. It was a good funeral because, sad as his going is, he is in Heaven. What comfort for his family and friends. One of the groups in our church sang the song "Finally Home." The lyrics are:

When alarmed by the fury of the restless sea,
Towering waves before you roll,
At the end of doubt and peril is eternity,
Though fear and conflict seize your soul

Just think of stepping on shore, and finding it heaven
Of touching a hand, and finding it God's
Of breathing new air, and finding it celestial
Of waking up in Glory, and finding it "Home"

When surrounded by the blackness of the darkest night,
Oh how lonely death can be,
At the end this long tunnel is a shinning light,
For death is swallowed-up in Victory, (Victory!)

Just think of stepping on shore, and finding it heaven
Of touching a hand, and finding it God's
Of breathing new air, and finding it celestial
Of waking up in Glory, and finding it "Home"
Finally Home! ...by Don Wyrtzen

The widow of the man that started the church we now go to died earlier this week. They were planning for her to attend the 50th anniversary of a Christian camp near the Oklahoma/Arkansas border, New Life Ranch, because she and her husband also founded that as well. The announcement that she'd died wasn't taken as sad news, because everyone knew exaclty where she was.

A relative of someone in our church died this week... we're not sure if she was saved or not, though she did make some kind of profession of faith. The funeral is tomorrow.

Praise be to God that this man is in Heaven. :godisgood:

My hubby and his father went to the Cleveland Clinic Foundation last night to hopefully lead my hubby's old work buddy to Christ. Noah has been at the Cleveland Clinic since Saturday. He has some sort of a major brain injury. He had been complaining of headaches for a few days---and, then he collapsed. His wife Colleen, his family, friends, and the nurses were so elated that two men showed up with Bibles.

My hubby had always witnessed to Noah when he used to work with him. Noah was always open to the Gospel but never made an outward prayer for repentance and for salvation. Last night, although---he is in a semi-induced coma, my FIL prayerful led him to Christ. Only God knows. My FIL asked him to squeeze his hand for repentance and acceptance, and Noah could not; however, my hubby said that---at that time, his eyes moved and a his one eye welled up with tears and a tear came down his face. We are praying for the Lord's grace and mercy for Noah. I will say this---my hubby said the room was filled with the presence of the Holy Spirit. Like I said---everyone was so grateful that my hubby and his dad were there. We are awaiting news from Noah's wife, Colleen, as they took him off the machines this morning. Can everyone please pray? Thanks and God bless.
