I watched this special on ABC last night about UFO's. I was wondering what the consensus on UFO's was here.
I was also wondering what y'all think about Roswell, Area 51, etc. since there seems to be a lot of conspiracy theorists on this board.

I would have loved to have seen the special. I have always been very curious of UFO's. Now...everybody, this is something that has been of interest to me my whole life (so don't laugh). I love the sky, stars, sun, moon, universe...but, I am not a science person by any means at all. I would have loved to have had a telescope as a child.

I would love to know what everybody thinks, too. :thumb

We have lots of science people on OLB, so personally, I am hoping that this gets interesting. :smile

I think I will be going against popular opinion here but I believe in UFO's and conspiracies surrounding the other things you mentioned. Candlelight, a book you might appreciate (most others won't) is "Black is Beautiful" by Dr Ruckman. It BIBLICALLY explains a lot of these things.

UFOs are generally an optical illusion or the result of somone seeing something they simply don't, or can't, recognize. It's also highly probable that some cases of UFOs are actually some sort of demonic activity.

A great book that explains why it's virtually impossible there is life out there that's visiting us here is, "Alien Intrusion" by Gary Bates.

The book also explains the virtual impossibility of being able to fly a spacecraft from a planet outside our solar system to earth.

It's a great book that really goes into some depth.

I have heard that book mentioned before. I just NEVER got a chance to read that one. Some people have sworn by UFO's. It is just kinda interesting is all to me.

I have heard that UFO's are demonic activity, John. The Christian movie, "Unidentifed" that has been out...gets into this. I ordered the movie when it first came out. I loved it. :smile

Biblical speaking...I suppose this could happen, though. Satan vs. God, I suppose. I don't know? These strange happenings are just interesting b/c...as I have said, I never really bothered to get into this realm of thinking.

Thanks for the name of the book..."Alien Intrusion". :thumb

Some sightings are probably various meteorites or other things...dreams...etc.

Other, more "real" sightings, are mostly likely demonic activity. The "spirit world" is MUCH more active than most Christians care to think about or accept. You'll find many of the "UFO" sightings are seen by people dabbling into the New Age religions, etc.

I believe that UFO's are demonic. Remember the Bermuda Triangle? There's another area on the other side of the country, in the Pacific Ocean, called the Devil's Triangle. All kinds of weird things happen in both of those places, but the Bermuda Triangle is just better known.

There was a plane full of people who were passing over the apex of the Bermuda Triangle when the water below began to whirlpool. Then they saw a disc in the sky - UFO, because no-one could identify it. The disc flew into the whirlpool, and the people in the plane saw it disappear under the water.

Throughout history there have been countless numbers of disappearances in the Triangles, mainly the Bermuda - from jet squadrons to ships. The Prince of Wales (can't remember the name, but it was in the 1800's) was on a ship that was towing another ship. A fog came up, the rope went loose. When the fog lifted just moments later, the other ship was gone.

Explanation for that, and how does it tie into UFO's? Some people (and I'm not talking conspiracy theory here, just opinon) believe that under the water in these two places is a portal to Hell through which demons can come and go. Sound crazy? Yep. But - what else could explain the disappearances? And the instance I mentioned above...witnessed by a plane load of people.

I don't think Roswell or Area51 has anything to do with aliens. There is probably secret stuff going on there, since our government does secret things. But not aliens...I don't think they actually exist.

I think Area 51 is private gov't stuff as well.

As for the Bermuda Triangle and etc... I personally think there must be a scientific reason for the whirlpools and such. I haven't looked into it a whole lot. But the geography under the ocean is like a whole 'nother world, and there are different currents and whirlpools and such that go on. I actually do not think demons come and go from hell...I think they are one place or the other. God has certain ones "in chains" but others, like Satan, roam "to and fro" throughout the earth. Its possible that demons do some things in the Bermuda Triangle, but its very possible it could just be a very volcanic area underneath there or something. Has there ever been any scientific study done to this area? Or has it been impossible?

PS: I do believe that one of the main reasons for demonic/UFO activity is to create the "strong delusion" after the rapture, that people will believe the "lie", probably that aliens abducted everybody. Satan is setting everything up right now so that nobody will even suspect God having anything to do with it.

:goodpost:

These two posts seem to be the most logical thing to me. I have heard some of this before. I had forgotten about the Bermuda Triangle...and, the pilot (AH, too) their for a second.

As far as scientific study - I don't know. I know that there are times when nothing happens to anyone who is in the triangle. And then there are times when things disappear. I don't know if a volcano under the water would cause an entire squadron of jets to disappear when flying over the BT - but that did happen in 1945. There have been reports of things going on since Christopher Columbus was in those waters.

I know that scientists and navy are baffled. Coast Guard calls it coincidence, but it's funny that this coincidence doesn't leave any evidence!

There are people who think it's exaggerated. Maybe so. I don't know. Here's an interesting link that talks about several ideas:

I know I watched a documentary one time on when these older planes were traveling late at night and would see these blinding lights and their engines would start shutting down, etc....can't remember exactly what was going on, but it ended up being some kind of strange magnetic field phenomenon I think, or something in the clouds...anyway, what seemed to be supernatural, ended up being a weather phenomenon of sorts. Wish I could remember the specifics.

That's why I think possibly the Bermuda Triangle could possibly be just an area where air currents merge and/or water currents merge, and cause dangerous conditions. It is interesting that nothing is ever found...but then, if nobody ever investigates, they have no clue if all these things are laying at the bottom of the ocean there, or not. And again, if its severe water currents, evidence could be buried under the sand at the bottom as well. Underneath the ocean in some places, its like mountain ranges, so I assume conditions could be just as harsh.
