Would you like my :2cents ? The Latin song is kindof cool because of the language used, but I too don't find the words exactly edifying. Really, though, I am very cautious around fantasy. I grew up loving Narnia and Lord of the Rings. Narnia was 'supposed' to have a Christian message -- it doesn't really. Any 'Christian' analogy is so twisted and hidden that it becomes worse than useless. It actually becomes mixed with falsehood to the point where it is a half-truth -- Satan's most effective weapon. It took me a long time to be willing to admit this and stop reading/watching fantasy and sci-fi.

What I am saying is..... in my secert heart that is connect to the Holy Spirit (saved by grace and so forth)' date=' I do not feel guilty nor do I feel wrong or judged by God for these. But that is me. That is bewteen me and God, what others take it is bewteen them and God. Now what I just said right there is Bible lol. But I really didnt want this to turn into something like an agrument.[/quote']

Be careful with this, eh? I don't want to make you feel guilty if you are not; that is not my job or desire. Please remember, though, that we are not to judge right or wrong by our feelings! So many in the churches nowadays (I'm thinking evangelical, etc.) do that, and they end up being led completely astray. "The heart is deceitful and desparately wicked, who can know it?" We need to line our actions and choices up by God's Word, regardless of what our feelings say.

I'm not very familiar with these video games, but I remember watching a movie some years ago: "Final Fantasy, the spirits within" or something like that. I remember it having very strong New Age/occultic tendencies. Is that related?

I seriously doubt that it ties the Bible into it. It's coming from Japan and Japan has very very little Christian influence but these games and anime are very common, as is the occult and new age-type stuff. Occultic stuff and superstitions are very strong in Japan and are a part of the culture. It is a very spiritually dark country.

Spirit With In was the worst part, they should have never made it. Some of the old stuff like Narnia are Christian stuff mixed with entertainment. It was my Youth Pastor that taught me about the moive Lion, the Witch, and the Wardorbe. When the Lion was Christ and was killed on the table, the kids where the sons and daughters of Adam and Eve (are we not all from Adam and Eve, yes, so that was part of the movie also). Japan isnt fully corrupted, I like to play the Pokemon games once in awhile, and I see nothing wrong with it either. I know normal people and Pastors playing shooting games, like Medal of Honor and all that, that come from Japan, and peopel say its wrong to kill. I ask them this, "how is it wrong to kill on the game, the people are made of data, they have no souls on the game, and we are not taking the life of the blood from them because they are not real.". We have a twist in the world were everything is wrong by "Christian eyes", but if you go into details, the things that seem wrong are not fully wrong period. God tells us to enjoy life in His Book, with out sin, and I do not see any sin in this.

The song One Winged Angel, it talks about his life, and the "revenge" he wants to get back to the "planet". But because he was corrupted by the cells, that is how he turned out to be. Now if you study the game, whos fault is it, the guy with the long sword, or the people that put the cells in the unborn child. "Burning with in" means the cells are active in his body, in his body, and it burned when he was still unborn. "Dont let me die", that is the cells playing tricks on his mind, Because Jenova was be like God but really it was a Satan. What is God's true name in the Bible, doesnt it seem almost close to the name of the "mother" or other words, the person that fell from the sky (did Lucifer aka Satan fall out of Heaven, yes). One Winged Angel gots its name by that way, so therefore, it was also the theme song for him. It all ties together. Even though all this I have said does not give straight Bible, like Narnia or Final Fantasy or Kingdom Hearts, they are still using Bible, but they used it in a different way to be a little entertianment. Its good to have Bible knowledge and read the Bible, but its also fun to be entertain using Bible. The movie "Ten Commandments" talking about Moses and everything else from the Bible, many people dont watch that because its old.

Never judge a book by its cover lol :saint

Sounds like you're really really into this gaming stuff. If that's what you like, then that's okay, but it's just that the lyrics to this music don't mention the Lord at all..in fact, they seem kind morose and depressing.

Thats the whole idea, to feel his pain, its Sephiroth's pain, his theme song. Music isnt driven on how it sounds or feel, but by emotions. During the fight, of Cloud vs Sephiroth, it is Sephiroth's theme song, like Batman, "Nah nah nah nah nah, Batman!" Music has a wonderful experience. How was Amazing Grace made, by the emotions and love and most of all, Grace. One Winged means hes a fallen Angel. Plus, I think we all need a theme song to our own lifes lol, havent figure out what mine is. Just to get a better understanding, if a couple gets married, they always want a song that tells every one "this is out song together!". Its something like that.

Oh no, you got the wrong idea, I dont like to listen to it because I worship it, its very hard to explain, but I will try to.

A gamer (a person that loves to play games, mostly for a living, I use to play games alot, but I stopped) loves it and wants more. Final Fantasy 7 was such a big hit, it goes for $138 on Ebay, and $60 in a store. The company has been teasing if they are going to remake it for PS3 or not, but any ways, it caught so many people attentions with the story line and game play (not graphics were like very bad for a game, but people didnt play it for the graphics, they enjoy the story!).

Well any ways, with all that said, you are thinking "what does that have to do with anything", it does. Since the game was such a big hit, and the final boss was him, in the game, it only had the music, I dont recall it singing. It was a great fight, and had to be a high level (but even with that, if Cloud was a lvl 50, and fought him, he would be hard, but if Cloud was lvl 99, he would be even more harder!), now there are other boss that push the gamers skills to the level, called Ruby and Emarld Weapons, both are extremely hard. One was under the ocean and you had a time limit to kill it at the same time, survive its powerful attacks that go from 5k to max damage (9999). A person can only have max health (9999), therefore it put the gamer skill to the test to see how good they were under pressure. Ruby was the same way, but with out the time limit. You had to fight it with only one person, and it damage not just your health, but also you mana, to keep you from using summoning (Knights of the Round was extremely useful with Double Cast).

Sephiroth was the Anti-Christ well Cloud was the picture of Christ. Sephiroth was such a great and hard battle, that the more levels you went up, harder he was. When people hear that song, they remember that fight. I told you, there is alot of details in this song, and this game, that what makes it one of the best games EVER MADE! And think about it...... it was made on PS1, think what it would be like on PS3!

Okay! Just sounds like you really LOVE this game. If you have fun playing it (I understand..I used to play video games alll the time) then that's ok. Just guess I thought you were focusing this thread more on the music than the game. :) My apologies.

In a way, it was, because many people tell me the things I do are wrong, but they dont know way I do it. Like for exsample, I act stupid (or retarded or any other word you can use) at church and around friends. And there is always a group of people that ask me why I am doing it. Most of the people that know me knows I am just goofing off for some fun, but when I am serious, I step up to the plate.

Same thing with this songs, I wanted to know whay people are against them with out knowing the story behind them.

And dont worry about me candlelight, I have enough friends here at church to keep me straight if I get out of line.

I just see things different then what others see, you could call it a gift, but I dont think so, I call it "with open eyes".

Speaking of video games w/ cool music... I was playing Halo 3 last night against a few of the girls at a birthday party. It was so fun! Of course it was my first time playing, so I wasn't very good at it... but it was still fun. The music on that game is really cool though... mostly just instumental stuff. :smile

Never meet me on Xbox Live...... Halo 3 is alsome, I like going around onthe same building with a sniper gun and a shotgun (dont have much love for the sword and rocket laucher). Last time I played, I did better then my friend, he mostly gets 30 kills, last time we played, I did better then him. Right now, I am playing game called Final Fantasy Cyrstal Chornicals, and also replaying Resident Evil 4 (another game people question me about, because the title has "evil" in it), both on GameCube, then I might start playing Legend of Zelda Wind Waker again...... Ganondalf was too eash on that game.

Somehow, with my son's description of it, I can't imagine enjoying playing Halo 3. But then, I prefer word games. :Green
