I generally don't go to the movies. Most Hollywood movies are ungodly. Even "God is Not Dead" had some contemporary christian music. If you can endure some short segments of contemporary music (Newsboys) then I think it is worth seeing. (You can apostasize me for seeing the movie if you wish ... as I don't even watch TV and generally listen to old time hymns you can check yourself while you are at it :) )

I know some who are planning to use this film as an aid for how to deal with such things as dealing with anti-God professors and teachers, as well as peers and others like that.

While I've not seen the movie, those I know who have seen it spoke highly of it. They have said the music was no more prOBlematic in this movie than in the Sherwood Baptist movies.

Rated R for rocking

The music doesn't play that big a part does it? I know the reason the Newsboys music is in the movie is because of their song of the same name as the movie.

The few I've heard talk about the movie didn't really say much about music, their conversation centered on the biblical aspects of standing for Christ and biblically defending the Lord.

I told my wife we will go see it. I'm interested in seeing the apologetics approach used. It might be helpful speaking with younger folks in my community outreach this year.

No admonishment from this chief sinner.

I want to see the movie, myself. We won't go to the theater and see it, because we prefer to watch things at home if we decide to watch.  We'll wait for the DVD, and borrow from the library (to save $$).  The advantage to watching it at home is manifold:  1. We can be in our jammies. 2. We can eat pizza while we watch. 3. We can turn the music down.  4. We can pause it and talk about something that was said if we want (or we can pause it to go and get ice cream...heh).

Liked, especially for the pizza and ice cream parts!

If I may: We vote with our money ... If you want hollywood to make the "right" movies then I feel paying to see the movie is an investment in the possibility of more decent movies. The gospel is given more then once in the movie by the way and there is a part that is like the thief getting saved on the cross.

There is truth in the fact that we vote with our money - but my hubby and I have no desire to go to a theater.  *shrugs* We live incredibly busy lives and an evening at home together is something we love. Being able to choose the movie we might watch, pause it, turn it up or down, fast forward through boring parts (or parts that even G ratings now sadly include), eating food that doesn't cost an arm and a leg, being able to dish out ice cream (heh) is great.  Purchasing the DVD or encouraging a library to do so is also a way to vote with our money.

I'm glad the gospel is presented.  I'm looking forward to seeing it.

And if I need a big screen, I recently bought a projector for the church, so I suppose I can use it to watch something and make a little theater at home. And still sit in my jammies eating pizza and ice cream and even spark a bit with my wife, if I like.
