my hubby think the gas price have lowered because oil companies do not want to lose their business over failing economy (so yes, people still can say lowering gas price is Bush's fault LOL) . So the only way they can do this is to lower the price .

I think the economy will boost back up because the gas price have lowered. Think of jobs that rely on gas to keep their business profitable (such as truck drivers) and people who have to decide if they should buy or use the money for gas, and most of the time choose money for gas. I had to cut back alot of things in order to pay for gas.

The government was in charge of Fannie and Freddie and Dem congressman Frank and Dodd both failed to rightly deal with them (which was their job), all the while as Dodd was receiving special perks from them and Frank was having a sexual relationship with one of the company top dogs.

Actually, the government wasn't in charge of Fannie and Freddie - and in 2003, Reps tried to get some tighter regulation, but the Dems fought 'em. Had the legislation passed before it actually did, some of this would have been avoided. Barack Obama got a load of $$ from them, too.

HC...who was in charge of Fannie and Freddie?

The CEO's - with very, very little regulation. Now, regulation isn't always a good thing - but these people should have had someone they had to answer to. They didn't, really...and the congressmen who were being paid off let it continue.

Oh...boy. :roll No wonder it got out of hand. So...congressmen might be vacationing in Aruba this year? :Green

They were under congressional oversight and the Dem congressmen in charge of overseeing them failed in their duty.

Thanks, John. Another example of the Democrats not doing what they are supposed to be doing. :roll Oh...yeah, but I forget---it is always GWB's fault. :lol  It could never be the fault of a Dem. :uuhm:

The economy has crashed to such an extent that people are actually driving less, and demand took a temporary dip (that and summer's over).

But that's supply and demand...if people would just realize that "Okay we can be poor for a few years" the market would level out again.

I know LOL...

But what is the bailout even for? To prevent another "depression". But if we had a "depression" it would also give the markets time to level out again. But people can't handle the thought of "going without" for the time it would take for the markets to do so.
