Pastor OJ? Simpson Plans to Become Televangelist After Prison Release

O.J. Simpson has found God, according to his manager Norman Pardo. He is now planning to become a televangelist after he is released from prison.

“O.J. is very religious now, and he’s been counseling other inmates with Bible studies for months,” Pardo told The Enquirer. “When I talk to him on the phone, all he wants to discuss is religion. He’s obsessed!”

The disgraced former NFL player has spent five years at the Lovelock Correctional Center in Nevada. The 66-year-old is serving a sentence from a 2008 armed robbery and kidnapping conviction.

Simpson has reportedly spent his time in prison mending his ways and relationship with God, and he now wants to share his peace in a worldwide crusade dubbed “Holy Safari.”

But one unnamed source is skeptical of Simpson’s motives.

“O.J. will tell you that he wants to bring people together, but that’s BS as far as I’m concerned,” the insider told The Enquirer. “There’s a lot of people sending bucket-loads of money to these TV preachers, and O.J.’s just looking to rake in millions from poor, unsuspecting Christians.

“It’s a dangerous idea to think of Simpson as a self-styled prophet who can reach people all over the world.”

The report says Simpson has been inspired by TV evangelist Frederick Price, whose Ever Increasing Faith Ministries broadcasts reach more than 15 million people very week.

“If he can do it, so can I,” Simpson said, according to a source.

Though Simpson is not eligible for parole until 2017, he has petitioned the court for a new trial. His people say they’ve gotten word the judge will rule in Simpson’s favor and let him out on bail. A source told The Enquirer he expects to be out by Christmas.

In the meantime, Pardo says he’s negotiating with religious TV networks to carry Simpson’s crusade. The “Holy Safari” poster they’ve designed features Simpson dressed in white with his arms outstretched. A large shining cross is in the center of the image.

Saylors Brothers Entertainment is working with Simpson and Pardo on a documentary about his life, based on taped interviews.

“O.J. has rediscovered his faith and we’re interested in working with him,” Kenny Saylors, the documentary’s director, said. “We’ve come to the conclusion that prison has actually set him free.”

Simpson reportedly believes he’ll be welcomed into homes, despite the fact that many Americans still believe he murdered his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend Ron Goldman—crimes he was acquitted of in 1995.

Has he confessed to killing his wife & that other man?

No. In the comments section after the article there are some saying he must first confess that while others say he only has to confess to the Lord, and still other professing Christians saying it's racist to question OJ on this.

Unless otherwise shown, it seems as if OJ is likely trying to scam an early release (since he's now a good Christian) and have the groundwork set for him to get back into public life and have quick access to money (by becoming a televangelist).

I used to work at Lovelock Corrction center. But the was in the the Pre-OJ years. Its a pretty loose facility, really made for the people that can't handle real prison.

"Entertainment". This tells us all we need to know!

He probably thinks he has enough followers out there to make him much money so he can go back to living high on the hog. That is as John says, "Scam his followers out of their money."

Perhaps he feels that's his only road to high living.

If all the people who were stupid enough to think he didn't do it then they're stupid enough to send him money. And since his crime was so brutal and so public I would think his repentance should be too. Biblically I know he doesn't have to and it is between him and God. But a truly repentant person of such an atrocious crime should be more willing to give to others like he's hurt,(domestic violence). But he's too narcissistic for the truth and just needs the continuing admiration of followers. If he's lucky, and they're stupid, he'll get money for sure.

OJ may or may not have gotten saved in prison. Don't be so hasty to condemn him just yet.

I was saved in prison thirty-four years ago. I know God can save in those places.

Did Paul immediately begin confessing to men the crimes and atrocities he had done? Scripture does not say he did.

If OJ has trusted Christ, the fruit will be there. Watch and see what his testimony is.

Just sayin'

When you were saved in prison was the first thing you started working on was how to make money out of it? I don't bet, but if I did, it'd be that's what he has planned.

My goal in prison after Salvation was to know as much about Christ as I could possibly know, and to live Christ in front of others as much as possible.

As I said, if OJ has trusted Christ, the fruit will show.  Don't be too hasty to judge him until you see what fruit he is bearing.  It may or may not be legit.  Time will tell.

The fruit put forth thus far doesn't indicate OJ has been born again. There is not even mention of such, only that he's "found God" and is "very religious".

Even many false teachers seems very sincere & religious. Seems he wants to start at the top of the chain & making plans to do so, of course that's where the money is located.
