Yep, if one loves them more than they love God.

Matt 22:

37Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

38This is the first and great commandment.

39And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

No mention of puppy dogs or candy or video games! :cooldude:

I think you miss the point. People loving puppy dogs and candy doesn't mean that the puppy dogs and candy are evil. The evil does not lie within the puppy dog or the candy. People believe that sorcery is innately evil, and that's a different issue entirely. You cannot say that there is something wrong with a given item just because someone that you think is wicked and perverse likes it. That's just oversimplifying too much. :frog

That's a very good question considering the fact that some super power games are stiffed with occult elements; I've noticed also in detective games. The best way to deal with this would be to stop playing it when you notice something's wrong.

Precisely, Jasmine. Well said! :goodpost:

Ephesians 6:12...For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. "Always in Prayer" KJV 1611 AV.

If the conviction is based upon a principle of God's Word that has been heretofore ignored (such as the principle of abstaining from all appearance of evil), then it doesn't matter whether or not another Christian has the same conviction. We are supposed to obey God's Word regardless of whether or not we 'feel convicted' about it.

Marcus didn't say he preferred not to be involved with magic-themed books. He said that associating with such books violated the Biblical principle of separation. The existence of the underlying Biblical principle makes all the difference.
