So us being all IFB and such like...I thought I'd start a fairly foreign topic...

Let's say something GOOD and POSITIVE about a church member or pastor! Seems like lately everyone's demonizing everyone...lousy church members, lousy preachers who steal members, lousy christians with no standards, lousy parents who can't raise kids.....

Surely...SURELY we IFB peeps can think of something NICE for a change....

Okay so I'll go first. Tonight we are having Christians over to our house that are not from our church (rather from the church to which my kids attend school) and I'm happy to say we can fellowship with other people without "stealing" them or gossiping about church...but just having a nice time because we're Christians. Its a blessing.

Next?

I like the recent outbreak of people sharing from their devotions or studies and giving the scripture God used to inspire them...very refreshing for a change.

Linda is doing great, thanks for asking.

I was just pointing out where people can get only positive stuff, and not hear nothing negative, in fact with them one will never be under convictions for any sin. Like the one church advertized on TV, come worship with us, we promise not to make you uncomfortable.

We have a lady in our church, she wants everything positive. I suppose many churches have many people like that within them, even Baptist Churches. Yes, sad to say in many Baptist Churches all you will hear is positive stuff.

Its hard to think of positive things isn't it Jerry. :coolsmiley:

No, its not difficult at all to have something positive, there is one very positive thing in every child of God's life. That is what keeps me going in this world were very little is positive because of all this sins in this world. That one positive thing is that I can look forward to heaven, being with my Father and Savior for eternity.

What I can't understand is those of us who say we Christians ought to go around with a smile on our face and happy all the time. With all the sin about us, the number of people who refuse Christ as Savior, the number of people that are headed to hell, along with the number of people that are trying to push God out of America, how can a Christians have a smile on their face all the time.

I will say the Christian ought to have an inner happiness that cannot be spoiled nor stolen by no one, that inner happiness comes from knowing Christ and our future.

I might add, years back upon realizing that I would live in pain for the rest of my life, That the doctors could no repair my neck, that if I exerted myself to much in doing physical anything, that I would never be able to build another fence in the pasture, cut firewood, work cows, be able to keep my pastures clean and neat, nor hold down a jOB, for a while that really got to me. Them one day it dawned on me, the best is yet in front of me. I still have the best years to look forward to, they're not behind me. Since that time nothing seems to get me down because of that wonderful hope of which I know will be reality in just a few years.

Yes, I think positive every hour while living on this earth while my citizenship is right in heaven and I can never feel at home in this world any more and worldly pleasure and possessions do not bring me happiness.
