Many times those bumper stickers have nothing to do with reality! I have known some that collect bumper stickers, and none of them pertained to their situation. One said "I have an honor student at ________ Jr. high School" (or something very close to that)! As far as I know the school didn't even exist!

Our fearless leader did go and talk to a bunch of vets though--I was hoping they would stone him (God forgive me!)

There are liberal veterans out there who do support OBama. Of course, unless they have family in the military they won't be effected so much by OBama's liberal-socialist agenda.

There was a an Iraq war vet speaking out the other day for the repeal of "don't ask, don't tell". He's a sodomite and says soldiers don't care about that, only if those with them can get the jOB done.

Yep, and he has no idea what he's talking about. I know the General that is doing the year long "study" to see the effects a repeal would have on the military, seems he's been about 2-3 months into this study and I haven't really seen/heard about any feedback he's trying to pull from troops.

At least we can rely on the Marine Commandant, he said it straight and doesn't care about the blowback. I'm tired of these politicians shoving their agenda down our throats.

None of us want sodomites in the service and we don't trust them.

I had to ironically chuckle and groan at this statement all at the same time. My son was in AIT when they first began the real push (behind the scenes, too) to repeal this (I know the talk's been there, but it's only recently been going strong). He was absolutely disgusted, as were all of his fellow soldiers. The rank and file don't want this. But it will come (especially since it's already passed committee). And we will go even more along the road to extinction that ancient Rome & Greece took...

And don't get me started on these Congressmen that voted for the repeal. I gotta think most if not all really have no clue about certain nuances the military has (if they were in the military maybe those memories have faded or they just were never put in certain situations). I asked my congressman (Michael Arcuri who voted for the repeal) if he's ever been in close quarters on a ship for 6 months. I asked him if he's ever lived and worked in a 20'x 20' shack in the blazing hot summer in Iraq or Kuwait with 6 other guys. I asked if he's ever lived in a landfill and slept in a HuMVee for months on end. I asked if he's ever been in the field (or camping) when it was so cold you had to warm up your friend with your own body heat. These are the types of situations we find ourselves in everyday, some service members are in even more precarious situations than that.

I guess all the military members are going to start getting their own rooms in the barracks unless of course they decide to force heterosexuals to bunk with homosexuals. Yeah, take away the rights of others to fit your personal agenda. How about the open showers on ship or in boot camp? Isn't allowing a homosexual male or female into an open shower the same as allowing men and women to shower together? It's sick and perverted.

I really like the counter argument of "Well, there are homosexuals in the military today in close quarters and in open showers and blah blah blah". Yeah, and it's also unknown...that's the whole point. The psychological effect of worrying about someone staring at you because you KNOW they are gay is the prOBlem. And, it's also going to dangerous for them because if someone (with a hot temper) sees them possibly looking at them naked...they might get the tar beat out of them. Wouldn't a heterosexual feel uncomfortable if they were in a room with someone of the opposite sex there and you were undressing or were taking a shower? It is the exact same thing and it's wrong to force it on the troops.
