Ms LuAnne, did you know that your allergies shift every couple years or so. You can lose allergies and gain them. I myself regained an allergy I had in childhood recently in college. I am now allergic to milk, my doctor says however that I prOBably will now have it for the rest of my life. Maybe your allergy to cats came back or something?

Oh, yes, I'm aware of that. Kiwi is a fruit that I just love - used to get it all the time when my son was younger. We'd each eat one a day. Great vitamin C content. But in 1993, my hubby was in the hospital. The church sent a fruit basket with kiwi. Num! I peeled one and began to eat it. My throat started itching and then swelling up!! It didn't last long, so I didn't need to call the nurses in, but I had only eaten one bite!! Just think if I'd finished it. Then, a couple of years later, we were at an activity where they served fruit jello (it was a special dish and I can't remember what it's called). There was a tiny piece of kiwi on mine. My hubby took it. But when I ate the part where the kiwi had been, my throat started itching badly. Haven't touched 'em since!

I've always had allergies to cats, and some dogs (the dander can really get to me). But I believe that God gave me grace with my two cats. They came at a time when I really needed them (in fact, we thought the first one was a girl, so named him Grace. Called him Gracie. When we realized she was a he, we changed it to GreyC (for cat) because he already knew his name ). I've never had a reaction like I did to this one, though. I'm thinking part of it was that I rubbed my eye with the hand I petted her...

I live in an area that is very bad for sinuses. And I'm constantly bothered with allergy prOBlems - even in the winter. Dust and mold drive me nuts, too.

Thing is folks, I'm actually allergic, not lactose intolerant, so I can't have it at all. There is a difference, that means that no pill will work for me...I feel a lot better since taking it out of my diet. And I have lost a lot of weight.

My dad was lactose intolerant, too. Come to find out his intolerance was due to his allergy to egg yolks!! He never knew he had an allergy to them. Now, as long as he consumes only fresh eggs he can eat some. And milk no longer bothers him. Strange, eh?

That is really aweful. My sis in law drinks soy milk. She actually likes it now.

Jerry# is there a reason you hated taking these pills? My sis in law has pills she can take to but seems to not like taking them either.

Think about this, you go to the refrigerator, pour a glass of milk, get a bowl of ice cream, and or you head to the pizza shop, order pizza, about the time it hits you mouth, OH no, I've got to take my pills OR ELSE!

As home its a bit easier to take them, but who wants to take them with them where ever they go.

So during about a 10 year period, I did not consume at much milk or products that had milk in them,

Thankfully for some strange reason I got over it, it took my doctor and myself about 3 years to figure out that milk was causing my trouble, for I had never had such a prOBlem.

We had friends who had one child that had much trouble though all of his growing up years, had to have shots once a week nearly all the way through school, thankfully he grew out of it.

Doctors could not explain it. Pray that one day you will overcome yours.

you definitely need to find out what you are allergic to. people become very unhealthy because they can't find out what they allergic to so they tend to avoid alot of food when it is unnecessary. They could be allergic to soy but they think they are allergic to bread... all they had to do is avoid bread with soy instead of avoiding bread all together.

I can't take anything that has ibuprofen in it. While I was in the waiting room prior to my 2nd neck surgery a woman setting next to me was fixing to have back surgery, she said she was allergic to all pain meds.

That's definitely the plan.

They know I am allergic to a variety of things, the doctor thinks he must be missing one because I have been very ill with no explanation. Many of the symptoms I exhibit from food allergies I already know I have. Milk and Tree Nuts, so they are going to do a series of 44 shots to see if they can pin point anything else. And just to clarify what was said earlier, I have adverse drug reactions to Benadyrl it makes me pass out.
