Is the Anglican Church male-dominated? It's trying not to be. The Diocese of Dunedin was the first in the world to appoint a female Bishop, and there are now many female priests in the Anglican Church in New Zealand. Most services and modern hymns use inclusive language. Some traditional hymns and forms of service do unfortunately contain male-specific language which can't be removed without damage to their poetic quality. We still often (but not always) refer to God as ‘He’ and ‘Father’, because sadly the English language has no suitable neutral terms other than the horribly impersonal ‘it’. Recently an elderly church member that has no family living locally fell in her yard tripping over a root under a large oak tree, when she fell she fell face 1st on another root. Broke her nose, got cuts in her lower lip an chin that tool a few stitches, broke her thumb. I got a call when this happened and went to her house along with a niece. Of course we took her to the local hospital to have her checked out and she stayed a few days and her children came in. This is something that I wanted to do ever since we switched the software over to IPB, sorry it took so long. As you have noticed we have a new default "cleaner" look to Online Baptist. It may be a new look , but everything is pretty much located in the same place. Enjoy the new look. If it is too much for you, you can revert back using the skin changer located at the bottom left of the boards. Change it from CleanCut to IP.Board. BroMatt PS. For the next two weeks, I'm afraid eating will be high on the agenda. In the office where I work, there is a Department Thanksgiving breakfast tomorrow, and a company-wide Thanksgiving lunch on Thursday. I am looking in to getting myself a devotional journal. While looking around on these sites I keep thinking how I would like to get my husband a book. How many attend a Bible study at their church? About how many attend this Bible study? What are you studying now? Does your church offer other Bible studies also? I attend a midweek Bible study led by our associate pastor. There is typically between 4 and 6 of us, including our associate pastor, but on occasions we have had a few more. Just to clarify on the repenting God did when Israel turned from their evil ways. The thing here is that their turning from evil ways here is called... works. So since salvation isnt by works ..and turning from evils ways IS works.. hence the issue with repent meaning 'turn from sin'. So there is what I was meaning. -

Thankfully the pastors I know NEVER STOPPED preaching the gospel. Remember, TGL, they're to preach the whole counsel of God, not just salvation messages. And just to be clear, preaching messages that promote conservative, Biblical values is imperative. Maybe one should let the Holy Spirit guide in what these pastors preach, eh? -

Excellent it’s over, I noticed that many pastors were disturbed, with the elections this year, more than ever before, and they were preaching to reinforcing being a conservative, it was a priority for many preachers, but now that is all over, preaching the gospel for salvation should take its place. Well, I agree with knowing you are a sinner before salvation and by free will, believing on the Lord Jesus Christ. So that's not really calvinism. -
