This is something that I wanted to do ever since we switched the software over to IPB, sorry it took so long. As you have noticed we have a new default "cleaner" look to Online Baptist. It may be a new look , but everything is pretty much located in the same place. Enjoy the new look. If it is too much for you, you can revert back using the skin changer located at the bottom left of the boards. Change it from CleanCut to IP.Board. BroMatt PS. Sometime next week I will be making an announcement for our new classified section.

In my devotion this morning God reminded me how fortunate for those who are saved at an early age. Psalms 90:14 O satisfy us early with thy mercy; that we may rejoice and be glad all our days. Psalms 90:15 Make us glad according to the days wherein thou hast afflicted us, and the years wherein we have seen evil. Added Lisa Anne to prayers - God's grace before her family What did God say to you today?

Why do so many Christians believe in these things and forward them to everyone they know? Where do these originate? I received this in my email this morning: OUR LORD 'S PRAYER The moment you receive it, say: Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven, give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.. For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory now and forever Amen.. GO D WANTE D ME TO TELL YOU, It shall be well with you this coming year.. No matter how mu…

For the next two weeks, I'm afraid eating will be high on the agenda. In the office where I work, there is a Department Thanksgiving breakfast tomorrow, and a company-wide Thanksgiving lunch on Thursday. Then there is a small Thanksgiving get-together with my Bible study group this weekend, as well as a church-wide Thanksgiving fellowship dinner Sunday. I will be spending Thanksgiving with a lovely family in the country (the mother and father, a grandmother and grandfather, and 10 children, plus I believe they are inviting two or three other unmarried people who have nowhere to go on Thanksgiving. It should be a chaotic affair!!!!) Some of the dear godly men in my…

We watched this last night. Such a good movie! The TenBoom family of Holland were not Jews. They were Christians. When the Nazis took over the country, the TenBooms became involved in hiding Jews and helping them escape. Love for and trust in God was so evident in their lives! They were betrayed and captured. Papa TenBoom died not long after his capture. Corrie was in prison, and was called into the lieutenant's office. He was trying to break her, but she didn't break. And then he asked her what kind of God allows an old man to die in prison and be buried in a pauper's grave (because no-one was able to claim the body). Even that didn't bring tears (until lat…

I am looking in to getting myself a devotional journal. While looking around on these sites I keep thinking how I would like to get my husband a book. Not necessarily a journal but something that will help him to grow in his Christian life. I don't want anything that is a step-by-step guide on how to be a Christian, just something inspirational for a man who is a young child of God and growing every day in Christ. Any ideas would be appreciated

How many attend a Bible study at their church? About how many attend this Bible study? What are you studying now? Does your church offer other Bible studies also? I attend a midweek Bible study led by our associate pastor. There is typically between 4 and 6 of us, including our associate pastor, but on occasions we have had a few more. We are currently studying the book of Hebrews, chapter 11, the "hall of faith". Prior to that we studied the book of Genesis and soon we'll have to decide which book to study next. Our church has two other Bible studies, one for men at 5:30 in the morning which our pastor leads, and one on Thursday which is open to all but has be…

I received this by e-mail this morning and thought I would share! I am proud to say I know many such men in my church! ****************************************** 1. The man who puts God's business above any other business. 2. The man who brings his children to church rather than sending them. 3. The man who is willing to be the right example to every boy he meets. 4. The man who thinks more of his Sunday school class than his Sunday sleep. 5. The man who measures his giving by what he has left, rather than by the amount he gives. 6. The man who goes to church for Christ's sake rather than for himself or for someone else. 7. The man who has a willing …

The “Burning Bush” Exodus 3: 1-5 Have you had a “burning bush” experience? A burning bush would of necessity, give off light. Does your life emit light? Jesus said “Ye are the light of the world”.. but are you allowing Him to burn through you? Do you “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” (Mt. 5: 16). If not, you should! A “burning Bush” experience does not burn out; “And the angel of the LORD appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush: and he looked, and, behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush was not consumed.” (Ex. 3:2). The bush “was not consum…

C'mon, you all knowwww you wanna go! http://www.ewomen.net/ A family member posted on her FB that she is going to this. It saddens me. Her husband is a part of Operation Blessing and has been doing a tremendous work in Haiti, even before the quake. often pray for him while he travels and while his wife stays home with their 2 boys. I think her parents attend a Church of God, and I thought she and her husband attended a Baptist church. Not that that means much anymore I suppose, but I guess I always knew they were in to the contemporary scene. This event looks like a good way to please the carnal mind and get your blood pumping. People think their Spirit is growing in…

Pope Elections 1 2

Since we’re all involved in elections here in the U.S. I thought it might be interesting to revisit Pope elections. I went to this site… . http://www.catholic-pages.com/pope/election.asp 1. The Pope dies a. death is verified and a death certificate is authorized b. the public is notified c. preparations for the funeral rites and nine days of mourning. 2. The Interregnum (a period of discontinuity or "gap" in a government, organization, or social order) a. the Camerlengo (Pope’s administrator) who is responsible for church government. b. arrange the funeral and burial of the Pope. c. directs the election of a new pope, assisted by three Cardinals, elected by t…

God, why? Oh why God?

It really doesn't matter what the "why" is about. The lost in our nation use circumstance as an excuse one way or another.Maybe as an excuse to reject God. They see the turmoil going on around and have no knowledge of what is causing it. However, we who are saved by the grace of a longsuffering and merciful God do understand God's dealing with nations. Its OBvious to Christians this nation is out of God's will. So, with sodomy, lust, and abortion (just to name a few) so rampant; who do you think God is dealing with? The homosexual? The sexual moron? The baby killer? The Christian?

Hello my Christian friends. Crispy here, a new member on the board, but committed to Christ for two years now, having been saved by the Blood of the Lamb. There's a famous quip, one which is often seen on the pages of atheists, and often dragged out when trying to preach Christ to someone familiar with the saying. It goes something like this, "If God exists, why won't he heal amputees?" Another variation of it, more derogatory, is that "God hates amputees". In either form, this simple statement produces an argument supposedly in support of the atheists' assertion that there is no God, as no merciful God would refuse the prayer to restore a man by healing him. Admitt…

A week from today I will be in Washington state visiting my parents and my grandma. I get to stay for 2 weeks, so will be there on my grandma's 101st birthday. My mom is basically my grandma's sole caretaker, so I'll be giving my mom some time away (to do things like go to church...) while I get to spend time with my grandma. I'm pretty excited!! My uncle will be up there for part of the time I'm there. He is not saved. He doesn't believe that sin is actually sin, just mistakes. I would appreciate prayer for him, as well as wisdom for myself as we talk. I was able to spend a good bit of time with him last year when I was there. He's heard the plan of salvation m…
