Hello, I hope this discussion thread may be helpful to others who hold a similar desire to pursue Bible College studies but distance contravenes. I am prayerfully considering studying with an IB Bible College held in America. My home-base is Aus, so flexible online study would be optimal. I've researched a couple of colleges, but would love to hear others input and recommendations for colleges offering distance learning. I just got word of another pastor who is now in trouble for sexual impropriety, resulting from a series of "counseling" sessions. Can someone show me where/how that pastoral "counseling" (as practiced today) is even mentioned in the New Testament?

I've recently been going back over notes from college, sermons I've heard in the churches I've been members of, and several of the preachers my wife and I have set under have preached on these Scriptures....Luke 7:36-50, and Mark 14:3-11....Some have said that these are two similar accounts and that these are two different Mary's. Others have taught that these are the same Mary. It was brought back to my attention this morning through some conversation at church. What do you believe concerning these two accounts. Are they the same or are they different accounts and different Mary's and why do you believe this way? Thanks in advance. BT

There needs to be a Baptist Organization, that takes control of the situation and make those Baptist churches that support this movement, and lifestyle of the LGBTQ remove the name Baptist, from their churches. Here in America Is there such an Independent Baptist Organization, out there today, that could do this or brave enough.

This Sunday, many churches will take a moment to appreciate those that served in our military. This is a good way to thank these families, and to share the gospel. Do your church participate in this service every year, if not, why not. I believe most Baptist churches do, those that don’t could be that they are liberals, my guess.

I could be wrong, but I think in some churches sometimes leaders, administrators, deacons, and longtime members, think they control the church and the pastor. What does the Bible tells us about these types of members. Should they be cast out maybe?

Hello all, I am an independent Baptist for decades but recently in the last 4 or 5 yrs have discovered some truths in scripture that disagree with the traditional teachings of Baptist preachers ! My entire purpose for writing this is that hopefully, you won't allow ANY preacher to interpret your Bible for you, that's what I did out of trust (of the preacher) & laziness ! Matt. 24:29 clearly says AFTER (after what?, after what the author just spent 10 verses describing!!!) the tribulation the sun goes dark and the moon turns to blood which means what? The Rapture ! I understand this will be,at first, a shock to your mind that will take some adjustment, it did me anyway…

I don’t know when it started, but is fundraising in the church biblical. How much fundraising is too much, to have in the local church. I believe, that if everyone gives their tithes and offering, all the needs should be met. I’m not against a special offering for a missionary, or guest speaker. Example,car washes, bake sales, garage sales. The Lord’s house should not be a business speaker

The problem is often the starting point is belief there is no God...or they cant know. Just because they look at things they can observe, they automatically rule out the supernatural. What they fail to see is they have their own religion, because they never observed one species become another. They have faith that whales became cows.. dinosaurs became birds and ape like creatures became humans. They don't have good evidence for this. Most creation scientists talk about what glasses you put on to view the evidence. I don't like this kind of thinking because it doesn't talk about the facts...but it does show preconceived assumptions. -

My niece sent me a text yesterday telling me that my father had asked for her pastor to come out to the house to talk to him about eternity. He admitted that he was a sinner and needed the Lord, and he asked the Lord to save him. Praise the Lord for answered prayers. -

Yes, I have a pastor friend in the Independence, MO area that spoke against this often. I've got an aunt and uncle in O'Fallon, MO who could be on either side of the issue.
