    Please pray for us. Selling or giving away practically everything (amazing how much 2 frugal people accumulate in 15 years after losing almost all in a hurricane and tornado). Giving "heirlooms" and such "family possessions" to my kids / grandkids. Looking for small motorhome for temp housing while on deputation for $6000 or less. (Target date for being on the field 31Dec19). Technologically challenged couple trying to put together presentation, etc. for deputation.     Has anyone been to a baptism lately

    I believe the last one that I participated in at the church, was around two years ago. If people are not getting saved, and disciple that could make it, where there’s no baptism going on. Like the church that I am visiting. I’m not looking for the perfect church, but I did notice this. They are looking for a new preacher, it has been a while, maybe this could be the reason. I did mention it to one of the deacons, maybe he’ll bring it out in one of their meetings. This is not on the guest preacher‘s menu, baptism. I don’t know why the preacher below baptizing is dressed in black.

    Time are changing and so are the baptist doctrine. I don’t know if Christians, are now more open to women preachers. It seems that they are opening to more liberal views, and life styles.

    I just got word of another pastor who is now in trouble for sexual impropriety, resulting from a series of "counseling" sessions. Can someone show me where/how that pastoral "counseling" (as practiced today) is even mentioned in the New Testament?

    Is it the same Mary in these two accounts?

    I've recently been going back over notes from college, sermons I've heard in the churches I've been members of, and several of the preachers my wife and I have set under have preached on these Scriptures....Luke 7:36-50, and Mark 14:3-11....Some have said that these are two similar accounts and that these are two different Mary's. Others have taught that these are the same Mary. It was brought back to my attention this morning through some conversation at church. What do you believe concerning these two accounts. Are they the same or are they different accounts and different Mary's and why do you believe this way? Thanks in advance. BT

    Baptist churches that supports the LGBTQ movement 1 2 3

    There needs to be a Baptist Organization, that takes control of the situation and make those Baptist churches that support this movement, and lifestyle of the LGBTQ remove the name Baptist, from their churches. Here in America Is there such an Independent Baptist Organization, out there today, that could do this or brave enough.

    Memorial services for those that served 1 2

    This Sunday, many churches will take a moment to appreciate those that served in our military. This is a good way to thank these families, and to share the gospel. Do your church participate in this service every year, if not, why not. I believe most Baptist churches do, those that don’t could be that they are liberals, my guess.

    I could be wrong, but I think in some churches sometimes leaders, administrators, deacons, and longtime members, think they control the church and the pastor. What does the Bible tells us about these types of members. Should they be cast out maybe?

    Hello all, I am an independent Baptist for decades but recently in the last 4 or 5 yrs have discovered some truths in scripture that disagree with the traditional teachings of Baptist preachers ! My entire purpose for writing this is that hopefully, you won't allow ANY preacher to interpret your Bible for you, that's what I did out of trust (of the preacher) & laziness ! Matt. 24:29 clearly says AFTER (after what?, after what the author just spent 10 verses describing!!!) the tribulation the sun goes dark and the moon turns to blood which means what? The Rapture ! I understand this will be,at first, a shock to your mind that will take some adjustment, it did me anyway…

    Fundraising in the local church

    I don’t know when it started, but is fundraising in the church biblical. How much fundraising is too much, to have in the local church. I believe, that if everyone gives their tithes and offering, all the needs should be met. I’m not against a special offering for a missionary, or guest speaker. Example,car washes, bake sales, garage sales. The Lord’s house should not be a business speaker

    Jonah had it correct when he confessed Salvation is of the Lord. In Hebrews 9 we read this; 12 Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us. Jesus on the cross said it is finished. he accomplished a perfect work of redemption saving His sheep. It was actual ,not potential. The scope of this redemption goes worldwide. So we have verses that speak of this. Many get excited saying world, or all men, and pull verses out that use those words. Understanding what is being said is another story.     Using NVI - S in a Spanish Southern Baptist Church. I mention to him that the Reina Valera Bible is preferred here. But he continues to use the NVI - S. Like the KJV preferred churches, Spanish churches have members using Reina Velera preferred. New versions like the NIV are slipping in. Many are just staying quiet. He’s a good preacher, preaching with the wrong Bible. I have attended and visited Southern Baptist Churches, English and Spanish. The Independent Baptist is still my favorite. No NIV just the original KJ Bible.

    So far in the discussion on Ray Boltz nobody has made mention of the scriptural fallout as a result of his so-called "coming out of the closet." In other words, since Ray Boltz is a homosexual, I wonder how many of you are willing to obey the scriptures and separate from him by throwing away any and all tapes, CDs, sheet music, ect of his that you might have? 1 Corinthians 5:11 -"But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat."
