Hopefully this is the appropriate forum to place this in.. Okay, so today I finally got my order through for my new Bible, and it is: http://www.amazon.com/Concord-Wide-Marg ... 65-0163139 This is insanely expensive, it's about 4 times the price of my old Bible (Nelson Study Bible). For that price I expect this Bible to last till I die, or Jesus comes back, whichever first. Considering how much it cost me, I am unsure whether or not I should still use it for it's intended purpose (That is writing notes etc). So suggestions, should I write notes in it, or shouldn't I? I still can't get over it's price, sorry, I am not use to spending this much on a single non el…

I have long suspected that there will come a day in the near future, where the KJV will be an outlawed "book", obviously it is so much more than a mere book.

I know some people here were in another denomination before becoming Baptist. If you were, what happened to make you decide to become IFB? :)

Which ones would you recommend? I currently have 2 study Bibles a Scofield and a Nelson Study Bible. I am not really at the moment looking to buy another one, just would like to know y'alls recommendation A friend of mine is heading to the states and getting me a Cambridge wide margin Bible (man is that expensive) as well as a Reese Chronological study Bible. So I will be having plenty for now Also another question, I am looking for a Bible that just has the KJV text only, no references, no study notes, just the plain ol' Bible, I know you can get pew Bibles like that, but I am after a leather one if possible, thanks y'all! -Alen

I'd like to give my testimony of how I got saved. Anyone else who would like to give theirs feel free to do so. Actually, I would like to see everyone who is saved give their testimony here if possible! The reason I do this in this forum(The Bible) is because I have noticed someone/someones who has posted in this forum lately, seems to believe salvation is progressive. I would like to see that I am not the only one here who can tell you the day and the place I came to know the Lord! I was raised in a baptist church. I was preached at ever since I could remember. But never had I turned to the Lord. Then, through the school system, I had "learned" about theories(ta…

The King James Version is perfect for many reasons. For one, the translators were far superior in their knowledge than modern translators. For another, it uses the Textus Receptus which is a far superior manuscript than the Alexandrian texts from which modern Bibles are translated. The translation technique of the King James Version is also superior. Many if not most modern translations use a form of paraphrasing to translate their Bibles while the King James Version is translated literally word for word. This way you can interpret it yourself rather than having it interpreted for you by a translator. And last but not least, the King James Bible has superior theolog…

I go to Delphi forums alot, I post biblical responses to people that question parts of the bible. I understand and expect my views to be challenged from time to time. I seem to get some of my most scathing responses from others who claim to be fellow Christians. I fully understand that Christians will disagree from time to time on doctrinal issues, but when you are trying to point a lost person to the Lord, this shouldn't happen. This is why so many of these lost person throw up their arms, never coming to the Lord because "we" seem unable to provide answers even on the most fundamental issues. Has anybody else ran into this problem?, and what do you do about it?.

Just who was Melchisedec? In my Bible reading this morning in Hebrews 7 it discussed him. I know that he was an high priest. He is certainly an interesting character, a type of Christ but was he Christ himself? I found it interesting also that he is found in the 7th chapter of the Book of Hebrews.

I wasn't sure where the best place to post this was, but here is one of the most hard hitting sermons I have heard on Revival, based on Isaiah 59: Why Revival Tarries by Alan Cairns If you love listening to online sermons, this one is a must!

In the parable of talents, it's made clear that God expects us to develop our gifts. In v30 it says: "And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth." BUT in Eph 2:8 it says that you're not saved by your works but by God's grace. So, if you're saved but don't use your gifts, you'll still go to Hell? -Rita

My wife and I have just joined a mission church, it is very small, we had 17 present this morning. I was elected Youth leader, I had 6 youth in class. I am trying to locate some good quality conservative teaching materials that I can use in conjunction with a computer. Someone gave me the website below, but it is SBC and does not use KJV. I will have a new MacBook Pro next week and want to start using the laptop computer along with a monitor in class. http://www.daretobeadaniel.com/

I remembered some time ago, my school teacher was talking about original Bible languages in class. I told him the original NT was written mainly in Greek. But he told me, "It's Aramaic". What is this Aramaic NT all about?

Good Morning I was curious to what people believe concerning the Greek Septuagint. Is it the Word of God, or a lie of satan and written by apostates. Was it written by Jews? Or did it come much later....written by greeks? Would Jewish people take the Tenach (Old Testament) written in Hebrew and make a Greek one? Did Jesus ever quote from the Greek Septuagint???? If Jesus did quote from it like so many claim....could somone explain to me what a Jot and Tittle is using the Greek? Anything you may know would be greatly appreciated God bless

This is a quote I read recently online, and I thought it might spark some interest. And just to clarify, I'm neither of these girls, and I'm more than happy with my King James Bible. While I didn't want to enter a debate or argument on this topic (and so haven't replied to either of these quotes), I am interested to hear what y'all think. Does anyone know about this book? What do you think of the second quote?

I have a question and I do not want to really get anything started with it. I just do not understand why people write or say they believe in the 1611 when that is not what they use. I am KJV and I have done quite a bit of study on the subject but I bought my Dad a 1611 as a gift and it is very hard to read. It just bothers me when I hear people say that and I know good and well they don't read one. Just a question?

I have been in a couple of discussions before about versions of the Bible, but not until recently have I been called a hypocrite for using the KJV. I was on a non denominational forum the other day and a guy posted a thread about how the KJV sounds silly and is a mockery to God. He also went on to say how it is hyporcitical to use the KJV. I was totally offended. I am not a KJVO, but a KJVP. I believe it is the persevered Word of God for the English speaking people. Have any of you encountered someone so radical? :?

I would like to know what some of your Bible reading plans are. Do you follow the Bible-in-a-year plans or do read the Bible more often? (Not counting studying, just reading) My family & I follow a yearly plan we use for our devotions, and I designed one for myself that covers the Bible in about 3 mos. What do you do? BobbyW

I am not here to bash anyone. Nor am I here to debate. But I am here to ask questions and wish to find a debate opponent on another website that is more appropiate. The webiste is here Spam removed Please note that I am not attacking the KJV Translation, for its a very good work. I have myself 1 Print KJV Bible and a KJV Bible on all my computers. he KJV is a good work. But its not the most reliable translation, nor is it the only translation. I purpose a challenge to a KJVO Fundamentalist Christian the following topic. Resolved. The King James version is not God's only Bible for the English speaking people I will argue in favor and my opponent wil…
