Jonathan, my youngest at almost 3 years old, has a fever tonight of 102.6. I would appreciate prayers for him that he can get the rest he needs to feel better. He is just laying in bed, whimpering.

Not to alarm you, but please take the little guy to the ER or Doctor now. A sudden onset of symptoms and one of them being high fever could be H1N1 (Swine Flu).

I got this from the CDC web site about the H1N1 flu.

In children, emergency warning signs that need urgent medical attention include:

* Fast breathing or trouble breathing
* Bluish or gray skin color
* Not drinking enough fluids
* Severe or persistent vomiting
* Not waking up or not interacting
* Being so irritable that the child does not want to be held
* Flu-like symptoms improve but then return with fever and worse cough

The only thing that Jonathan could have from this list is the skin color, but his is just pale, not blue or gray. He actually just woke up asking for a drink. He has been drinking a lot today. No trouble breathing, no vomiting, wants to snuggle.

Okay, that's good. I know we just had a briefing yesterday by our company's Incident Management Director that sudden onset, to include high fever is one of the symptoms and we were instructed to send the employee home to see their doctor right away.

Didn't mean to panic you, I just know that the young ones are getting hit by this one the worst.

I just checked on him a short while ago - his fever seems to have gone down (he doesn't feel very hot) and he hasn't been whimpering or whining for a while.

Thanks for your prayers!
