I do think that it will happen in my lifetime. The world has always been wicked but in my view there has always been a strong christian church. Now I think the mainline church is done. So it must be soon.

I just don't know and neither does anyone else. :Green It could happen at any time, from the present to hundreds of years from now. Biblically, we are just supposed to be ready. As Jesus told the disciples, it is not for us to know the times and the seasons, that is in the fathers power.

We have signs of the end times being fulfilled right before our very eyes. However, the apostles and early church believers also expected the LORD to return in their lifetime. My conclusion is as it always has been that we are not supposed to even try and guess, but rather be ready always.

Maybe tonight, maybe before breakfast, maybe Sunday morning, maybe Sunday week, perhaps at the next 4th Sunday, maybe even early next year, but all I know for sure is its going to happen at a time we think not.

Like was already said, every generation has thought that it would occur during their lifetime. So far all of them have been wrong, so statistically the chances are better of being right if I say no. :lol

And like Jerry80871852 said, it will be when no one thinks that it will be. I find it funny when people say that it will happen at a certain date.

This poll given at any time in history would yield more yes answers then nos. For that reason, I choose no.

That should not stop us from living like it will happen tomorrow.

The two aren't mutually exclusive.

In other words, how should one answer? Either there are evidences that point to it happening or its a statistical question.

Every generation in history has thought that theirs was the last. They all looked to the evidence in their time as proof that Christ was coming back. Given that "man cannot know the day or hour" and that everyone in History has gotten it wrong, I am not putting a lot of value on the idea of "reading the evidence." So then it becomes a statistical question. Assuming I live to be 100 years old, there have been 2000 years since Christ, so to date I have a 1 in 20 chance of it happening in my lifetime, and that number only shrinks. I normally do not play 20:1 odds. I'll say if I had to guess, the chance of it happening in my life is pretty slim. Does that mean there is no chance? not at all. which is why we should live like it could happen tomorrow.

44 Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.

Matt 24:44 (KJV)

I had a wonderful pastor who for 2 years taught me private one night each week back in the 80's, He taught the above verse whole heartily. No doubt, he was one of the most knowledgeable pastors I ever had. He was a big help to me, during that 2 years I learned much from him.

But he got caught up with the wrong person who was also very smart in the Bible. This man drew him in to his web studying with him. Together they set a date back in the 80's, the date came and Jesus did not come.

I might add that he put all his business in order, and told many others to do the same where their lost relatives would know how they wanted things to be.

Of course after the date came and went there was no place for him in this area, so he moved to another state.

I know we see things that shows a sign that the coming of Jesus for His own is growing closer, even much closer. Some seem to not want to say there is nothing at all that has to happen for that day to come upon us, it can happen at any moment.
