So lately just watching various and assorted tv shows....so much is "reality" these days...and I have seen a relatively lot of "Obama" hats and shirts on people. I don't EVER remember seeing Bush stuff on tv...nor do I even remember Bush stuff being sold as memorabilia anyway. Crazy, Obama is being marketed as a tv star or something!

Only TV I watch is news old classic movies so I can't speak as to "reality" shows but I would be interested to know how much "TV" time Obama has had as compared to other presidents. It seems that he's been on TV more than all other presidents combined.... Every little thing he does is a "big deal" and a big public gala has to be made.

Yeah. Killing a fly? PLEASE.

I guess I didn't mean really "reality" shows....I was watching Ace of Cakes and one of the employees had an Obama shirt on. And then I was watching some kind of food show thing and one of the restaurant patrons had an Obama hat. Have seen various and assorted other Obama things. Even in Walmart saw Obama framed pictures and then an Obama fabric print in the craft store! Good grief!

Aren't they treating him as a rock star? Perhaps he will be the 1st president that has been overexposed.

I had hoped when the election was over we could have days when his picture nor name would be on the news.

Cost of a bowl of soup at homeless shelter: $0.00 dollars

Having Michelle Obama serve you your soup: $0.00 dollars

Snapping a picture of a homeless person who is receiving a government funded meal while taking a picture of the first lady using his $500 BlackBerry cell phone: Priceless

BO used the media and the media promoted him, giving him celebrity status that has really been unheard of in former POTUS'. Part of that reason is that he was quite savvy in using the internet as a venue during his campaign. He received so much donation money (a lot of it illegal, but they didn't bother auditing because it would "take too long") he was able to advertise in a lot of ways. And now, just like any celebrity, he needs to have his name out there constantly so that people won't "forget" him (not likely with him being POTUS, but there it is...).

His celebrity status with the MSM is a big reason why he claims Fox News is so negative in their coverage of him - even though non-partisan research groups have shown that Fox was by far the most balanced of any of the networks when it came to both BO and McCain (several of the commentators and reporters voted for BO). The fact that Fox doesn't fawn on him like the other media does seems to get his goat.

I don't find Michelle all that attractive. And I don't know that many people (even amongst people I know who voted for him) who do. Again, it's the media pushing them on us in unprecedented ways - the media creates celebrities and that's what they've done with the Obamas.

Obama is our celebrity president. They worked hard during the primaries to create this and they aren't about to let it go. Remember his "sold out" tours during the primaries and his trip to Europe?

On TV you see ads for Obama t-shirts, sneakers, plates and assorted other items.

Virtually every day the media finds a reason to feature him in several stories.

Michelle Obama was cast by the media during the primaries as being the modern day Jackie Kennedy.:sThey have tried real hard to make her seem glamorous, highly attractive and a diva of fashion.

Of course, this was all part of their effort to portray Obama as a modern day John F. Kennedy too. How many times during the primaries were we told how handsome, young, appealing, fresh, hip, with-it and cool Obama was?

His celebrity status alone helped him to win the election. If the truth could be told, we'd probably all be amazed at just how many voters cast their vote for Obama based upon his celebrity status and/or that he's black.

Fox did a good job of showing that many Obama supporters didn't have a clue as to what he actually stood for. Celebrity status and perception are far more important to many Americans than is substance and reality.
