Our oldest son, the rebellious one, after he moved out called back home to ask his mom how she made her firecracker casserole. It seems he had mentioned liking that to a friend so his mom made them a firecracker casserole but it just wasn't as good as my wife's! Well that sure made my wife happy, of course!

My Mom's fried chicken and her homemade pizza were the best! My wife can sometimes come close on the fried chicken, but I've never tasted a homemade pizza anywhere near as good as my Mom's.

My sister can make a meatloaf that's about as good as Mom's, but she can't cook anything else like Mom did.

The 1st time I ever heard of pizza was while in the Air Force during Tech school at Canute AFB. Some of the other airmen were calling in an order to be delivered to the barracks & asked me if I wanted a pizza. I said, "A what?"

They tried to describe it to me & I said, "I don't believe I would eat such a thing!" I suppose it was on over in the 70's when I ate my 1st pizza.

No one can make it like grandmother & or mother, it just does not happen!

Wish I had a chocolate pie made by my grandmother! Best taste I ever had!

There is a song called Circle of Friends. They used to play a portion of that song at the end of a local Christian radio show that used to air near here a few years ago.

Will That Circle Be Unbroken

There are loved ones in the glory,
Whose dear forms you often miss;
When you close your earthly story,
Will you join them in their bliss?
Will the circle be unbroken
By and by, by and by?
In a better home awaiting
In the sky, in the sky?

In the joyous days of childhood,
Oft they told of wondrous love,
Pointed to the dying Savior
Now they dwell with Him above.
Will the circle be unbroken
By and by, by and by?
In a better home awaiting
In the sky, in the sky?

You remember songs of heaven
Which you sang with childish voice,
Do you love the hymns they taught you,
Or are songs of earth your choice?
Will the circle be unbroken
By and by, by and by?
In a better home awaiting
In the sky, in the sky?

You can picture happy gatherings
Round the fireside long ago,
And you think of tearful partings,
When they left you here below:
Will the circle be unbroken
By and by, by and by?
In a better home awaiting
In the sky, in the sky?

One by one their seats were emptied,
One by one they went away;
Here the circle has been broken-
Will it be complete one day?
Will the circle be unbroken
By and by, by and by?
In a better home awaiting
In the sky, in the sky?
