Our pastor preached an excellent sermon to day from Luke 17:20-37. How wonderful to consider our Lord coming again at any moment! How convicting to consider our state when He does come, as well as that of our loved ones!

I've always loved Thanksgiving! I wish all the old ones were still alive so we could still have those wonderful, big family gatherings we had when I was a child.

I love it too. Last year we got together at my mom's dad's house with family and had it (my dad's family lives in NC; mom's in South Alabama, where we live now). Unfortunately, we won't be doing that this year. It'll just be us (but, who knows - a lot can happen by then, I guess).

I know what you mean. On the rare occasions I have to miss a service it bothers me and when I do go back it somehow seems as if I've been away for weeks or months rather than just missing a service.
