Have you ever thought of not buying stuff by your credit history but by trying to put the money down up front. Or buy stuff that is so much cheaper that you don't need a payment plan ( therefore not needing credit.)

But on the other hand I understand what you mean I guess some day I will be forced to build up my credit history too.

I always do try to pay cash except when my dad fronted me some money for my car.

The thing is, if there is ever an emergency or something, it's good to have a good credit history. Or when you go to buy a house, it's nearly impossible to put down cash. Nearly impossible though, I'll see what happens.

Yeah, and I have heard stories where God has provided the funds to pay for a house cash(and they weren't rich) and that would be the way I would like to do it. Otherwise, I completely agree with you, I believe in paying cash. If you don't have the money then you probably don't need it.

That's why I got my credit card. I had an emergency and had to borrow money from someone because there wasn't enough in my checking to cover it, and I couldn't get to a bank to transfer the money from my savings. On the (two) occasions where I've used it, I have transferred the money immediately.

(plus, it certainly won't hurt my credit score by paying it off on time, either!)
