I own a Evidence Bible(edited by Ray Comfort). This is a "easy reading KJV bible".It is the KJV bible but words such as ye, and betwixt and edited and the modern words are put in(you, between). Does any one else own this bible? What does everyone think about this edit to the KJV bible?

I think he should of just left the KJV alone, or made it in another translation. To many KJO people don't like God's word being "perverted".

Question: How is it perverting the Word of God if one updates words like betwixt to between?

If the KJB is the preserved Word of God for English speaking peoples why wouldn't it be better to update the language in the KJB rather than to make a whole new translation?

Myself, I love the KJB as is. However, I know many people who greatly struggle with the old English of the KJB.

If the Evidence Bible is truly the KJB with updated wording, which would make it easier for many folks to read, then I have no problem with that.

However, in the case of the NKJV, which proclaimed to be an updating of the language of the KJB but actually went beyond that and changed verses and is in reality a different translation, I'm against that.

It's the Evidence Bible, not the KJV. But it seems interesting and I'd kind of like to get a copy.

And I agree with you John. The NKJV had some changes in it that I don't like but the Evidence seems like it is an honest and accurate update.

Perhaps I wasn't clear, I was being sarcastic about it being a perversion. Though as I said before it is better to leave it as the AV1769 than update it, or make it in another translation.

The Evidence Bible is described as "easy reading "Comfort-able KJV".

I like the Bible for the additional material it contains but I don't read it because I prefer the old language of my KJB which I am familiar with and which has served me so well all these years.

I don't think I would use it as my regular Bible because I'm used to the KJV and I would only memorize out of the KJV. I think Ray Comfort just did a good job at showing the world that a "new" version of the Bible can be put out and still be accurate when we are flooded with so many modern perversions.

I agree Kevin!

I believe the KJB is the preseved Word of God for English speaking folks and while I prefer the old language, I believe it's great that the language has been updated for ease of reading for some folks withouth anything being taken from or added to the KJB.

Thank you Alen, I see what you are saying now.

I know there are very hard core KJB-Only, as is, no touchy, sorts out there.

The thing is, a KJB with updated language (with absolutely NO other changes) would still be the KJB! It would still be the preserved Word of God without dilution or additives.

Well the KJB only crowd think that every word of the 1611(they don't admit that they use a 18th century edition :frog ) is perfect. There are a bunch that also think that Adam spoke KJV English and that those who speak a foreign language can only grow out of a KJV, which they must learn how to read. :loco
