I just want to see the poll of "what churches need?" One of the options "other" is "what does the church need??"

I believe all independent fundamental baptist churches need Evangelism AND Discipleship. Check it out in the website: http://www.fbbc.info/discipleship/index.html

I am strongly encouraged you to recommend to your church about Discipleship Ministry. I guarantee you it will help the churches grow than you can imagine if the church members get involve the discipleship. Bible
Don't forget to pray too. Praying

So I chose E & D, with the understanding that the church is not limited to these two functions. These two things should be going on all the time at any particular church. I should also clarify that these two (especially "e") do not need to take the form of a "ministry" like we think of "ministry" (i.e. puppet ministry, children's ministry, shut in ministry). These are things the church is to be doing. That does not mean they need to schedule it, or treat it like a program.

Edit to add: Discipleship as well should be happening all the time. Either its groups of folks meeting for bible study, accountability groups, etc. or its in the form of a lecture style class setting does not matter (actually I would say nither is fully sufficient on its own). The call to disciple is there, the how is left more vague.

The Every independent fundamental baptist church does need two main areas are evangelism [reach out the souls and bring them to Christ] and Discipleship [teach others]. It is according to Mark 16:15 and Matthew 28:19-20 plus Acts 1:8. It is commanded from Lord Jesus Christ.
If without two main areas then what would church be like without soulwinning and teaching???? The church would be dead.

If just evangelism only, left people behind and keep on preaching without teaching.
If discipleship only, the person would learn all her/his life and not go out to preach the gospel.

Two main areas would do the work for the Lord Almighty God. Preaching and teaching, then add the ministries in the church would do fine.
The "others" and "none" would not do work unless start with evangelism and discipleship. That are the key areas for the church.

Let me tell you about First Bible Baptist Church of Rochester, NY.
The church did grow up to 1,500 attendants before started to have the discipleship ministry. After discipleship ministry in 10 years. The First Bible Baptist Church grow to 5,000 attendants. That prove the discipleship ministry is working well.
Again check out in the website of the First Bible Baptist Church Discipleship. http://www.fbbc.info/discipleship/index.html
Then look up the "link to Discipleship Bible Study Resources". Just check it out.

I am strongly encouraged you to take this opportunity and you would see the blessing from the Lord God Almighty.

Evangelism allows for growth in faith. We faithfully go out each Saturday, we seldom see those who we talk to, but God does bring in those who HE knows are ready. We just need to follow in obedience and go.
Discipleship, so many become pew warmers without it. A social club we're not, Praise God for His leadership and our Pastors' desire to follow Him.

Evangelism & Discipleship

(No, these are not the only 2 things the church needs but they're the two things that are most often neglected in so many churches)

I agree with Michelle.

I voted "other" for the simple fact that I have personally seen what reading non-KJV 1611 bibles can do to a church & it's members. I have been researching "rewritten perversions" of the bible in order to witness to the WIDE variety of Christians (and non-Christians). Believe it or not- there are several churches in my city which claim to be IFB and read from NKJV,NIV,etc... This is a problem!!!
If we are discussing strictly IFB churches, then I might have voted e&d, but I feel that stong emphasis on soul-winning is a MUST. I also feel that close fellowship with fellow members is a must...(I have also seen what a seed of resentment can grow into!!) Fellowship is a fundamental key to help keep each other lifted in the Lord. Another thing would be prayer. Holding a seperate or designated service for prayer (in addition to a prayer list that is taken home) helps teach young and new members "how" to pray.

The world is being allowed into all aspects of church life (even IFB). We need to prayerfully look to God for guidance to find sound churches. Many are seeking to grow and soften doctrine in order to do so.
