I was recently banned from another message board. It's a secular music message board.

I was told by the admin (and I quote): "You talk about Jesus too much. It's up to you to decide whether or not you want to be a part of this community but if you do, then the religion talk stops right now!"

I was accused of proselytize and constantly "pushing my religious beliefs on others".

Now, here's the ironic thing: I never did that.

I only ever made two comments about anything to do with Christianity. One, following the death of George Carlin, in which I just said that he was an atheist who spent his life cursing God and another in a thread where we were asked what people, living or dead, we would like to meet. I listed some Christian theologians I'd like to meet.

That was the extent of any comments about Christ, Christianity, or anything religious.

Now, what really bugged me about the 'famous people" thread is that after my post was edited by the moderators to delete the Christian theologians, somebody else said that he'd like to meet Buddha and they had no problem with it.

So anyway, after I was banned, I went back and joined again under another name.

Still me. Still talking to the same people. Still talking about the same subjects. Still the same posting style. Still the same words.

The only thing that's changed is that I haven't mentioned anything about being a Christian.

Guess what? The people who cursed me for being a Christian are now talking to me like I'm their best friend.

That's common, unfortunately.

I've been through similar experiences far too many times. I finally stopped joining the various groups, even the so-called Christian groups, because those who truly believe in Jesus and strive to live according to His Word are scorned, even hated, and they will eventually be banned.

I can relate to this. Years ago I went to a depression group on yahoo. It was to get help for medical advice about depression and stuff. There was alot of cursing on there and people wanting to end their lives. I mentioned something about being a Christian and if they would trust Jesus they would not have suicidal thoughts and depression. The owner emailed me and said they are banning me from the group because I was pushing my beliefs down people throats and if there was a God why would these people would be depressed? I was like if your doing that to the members you don't care for them. All they wanted is to give them advice to what pill they can swallow down their throat and not change their lives.

Most people want to be able to wallow in their sins without consequences. When the inevitable law of reaping what we sow comes about and the consequences kick in, these people want to complain and look for an easy, man-made solution, but they absolutely don't want to hear anything at all about Jesus or the Bible!

What these people need is exactly what they reject. :sad

Have had the same thing happen to me, several times, on "Christian" boards, for daring to disagree with the moderator about some theological point. I didn't post anything any different than I've posted here, but Liberal "Christians" are as closed minded as the irreligeous when it comes to someone daring to disagree with them. They're basically the same, it's just that some atheists like to pretend to be Christians.

Maybe that will show you the hearts behind that kind of music. :Green

I've been banned from "Christian" boards for posting Scripture! I've been called a legalist for using Scripture to show homosexuality is a sin...and eventually banned.

Such wouldn't be so unexpected on a secular board, but one would think a professing Christian board would welcome Scripture.

The key word is "professing". In real life(as apposed to the web)when quoting scripture to professing Christians it has been less than welcome at times as well... There are a great many professing "christians" who are offended at the Word. Just showing their true colors...

Very true Seth. I've encountered a number of professing Christians who bristle when Scripture is quoted. First I believe the bristle because the Word convicts them. Second, I believe they bristle because as a professing Christian they know they should know Scripture but don't.

Back when I was yet a young Christian I had a Methodist preacher tell me that I knew more Scripture than most of his congregation. He meant that as a compliment but it was also a sad statement about his ministry and the folks in his church.

I was banned from ChristianForums for citing scripture to show that you can't be a homosexual and a Christian at the same time. The ironic thing is, the day after I was banned, one of the liberal moderators started a thread in the fundamentalist forum to let the fundamentalists vent their annoyance at similar treatment.

Just so you know I'm not the only one, you can see it here:
