  1. And you should, but that isn't what people use it for.
  2. You know, honestly, given the people who post here, I take not having any reputation as a badge of honor.
  3. Just to clarify, yes, I did say those things about Matt and I stand by them. To refresh your memories, in another thread, I unfairly accused Matt of doing something he had not done but I immediately realized that I was both wrong and unfair and I changed the post. However, instead of accepting my apology and acknowledging that I did attempt to clear up the matter and remove Matt's name from the post, Matt continued over the course of several posts, to rub my nose in it and demand that I show evidence to back up a claim I had already apologized for and corrected. That's not something a person of good moral character does. Nor is it something that anyone I care to socialize with does. As far as I was concerned, I had no hard feelings toward Matt and it was all over. Matt is the one who brought it all up again and tried to goad me into a fight, even after I had apologized and tried to do the right thing.
  4. Typically, when boards have a reputation system, it's a popularity contest. You see it a lot on boards that are very cliquish. That's about all it is here. I wouldn't lose any sleep if you don't have any.
  5. Actually, I just looked at that link and it looks like it's pretty accurate.
  6. The "Jesus freaks" were hippies who came to Christ in the late 60's-early 70's. Well known "Jesus freaks" would include Larry Norman, Randy Stonehill, Phil Keaggy, and Ritchie Furay.
  7. Oh, they're not going to like that.
  8. Sounds like your mind is made up. If you don't want to take medication, then don't take medication. Just don't judge those of us who recognize that medication is good and sometimes necessary.
  9. In the words of a song I'm not allowed to name here, "sometimes words have two meanings." They have similar root words but are not the same thing.
  10. Because I'm ignoring you as much as I can. You're not a good person, you're not a person of good character and you're not someone I want anything to do with. Yeah, trying to goad somebody into a fight who has already acknowledged that they're wrong and has taken steps to rectify their error is really Biblical.
  11. Actually, you can. Among other things a vitamin C overdose can severely damage the liver and cause miscarriages in pregnant women. How do you know? And to think, making recreational drugs illegal didn't keep them from abusing druge. Then, by your own standard, I guess I should question whether you're really a Christian, given the numbers of people who have died as a result of the illegalization of drugs.
  12. That makes about as much sense as when Bush said, "I've got to abandon free market principles to save them".
  13. I like the way you put "Christian" in quotation marks, as if to question the Christianity of those who disagree with you. You must feel very much at home here. Actually, we're not doing that at all. I, for one, was very clear that intoxicating drug use is wrong.
  14. Matt doesn't want to straighten anything out. If he did, then he wouldn't have continued to try to goad me into a fight, even after I admitted I was wrong and then tried to do the right thing by attempting (albeit a failed attempt) to edit my post.
  15. Alright, I'm making it worse. I accidently copied post #21. I'm going to stop because it's clear that post #22 contains no reference to Matt and that's all I can do. What a petty and small person that even after I admitted I was wrong and even after I tried to do the right thing, he's still hammering me about it and trying to goad me into a fight.
  16. Here is my final, corrected post (post #22) and what I had hoped would be satisfactory for Matt: Could anyone please show me where I make any reference to Matt or his beliefs about recreational drugs?
  17. So then, let me get this straight: even after I tried to be conciliatory and admitted to you that I was wrong and that I misjudged you in this case, and even though I tried to edit my post to remove your name and my claim about your beliefs, you're still going to try to goad me into a fight? OK. I'll try this one more time. Go and look at posts #20, 21, and 22. If you take the time to read the three of them, you will notice that they are similar, but slightly different. In post #20, I made a claim about you based, not on what you did, but based on what someone else did. I immediately realized that I was wrong and that it was unfair of me to do so. I thought that I was editing my post but was unable to do so and what I thought I was a new, edited post, ended up as post #21 and 22. I am unable to remove post #20 and can only stand by post #22, in which your name does not appear at all, nor is any reference at all made to you. Believe me, Matt, I understand how much you love for me to grovel at your feet and to debase myself at your feet, but I believe I've done all that is Biblically required of me.
  18. Still waiting for you to explain why your name doesn't appear anywhere in the last of the three posts I made.
  19. I've played guitar since I was twelve years old and spent roughly twenty years as a professional musician, playing with some people your parents and grandparents would know. Now, I play in a pick up band for different charity things in our area.
  20. Oh, that's right. Because, according to your logic, it doesn't matter if you don't drink or have no desire to drink. Merely seeing someone else drink will give you an uncontrolable lust for alcohol. Honestly, it's things like this that just make me embarrassed to be a fundamentalist.
