Members fastjav390
What is the official position of OB concerning the Baptist church being the bride or not? Is this a "Landmark" website? No Nicolaitans
Members No Nicolaitans
I can't answer your question. As for myself, I reject the Baptist Bride position. There may be some here who hold to that position...I know there were members here (in the past) who held that position. Members weary warrior
I too can not speak to the official position of OB regarding the Baptist Bride position or teaching, but I personally reject it out of hand as well. Members heartstrings
I can, from past experience, say with 99.9% certainty that the administrators of this site do NOT hold to the "Baptist Brider" false doctrine. swathdiver, No Nicolaitans and Pastor Matt
Members fastjav390
OK, I wasn't sure from some of the posts I read. Sounded like the Landmark position which I find full of assumptions.
Administrators HappyChristian Posted January 28, 2017 Administrators Share Posted January 28, 2017 We are not a brider board, fast. There might be some members who are close to that position, and might even be some that are. The board, however, is IFB - completely Baptist, but not brider. Hope that clears things up. Correct, we officially do not hold to the Baptist Brider position, however, some members do hold to that position.
Members 1Timothy115
No "Brider" here. That reminds me of the joke... Peter leading the new arrivals in heaven past a door and telling them to be very quiet as they pass by. Its full of Baptists and they think they're the only ones here. When I was in the Brethren that joke was spoken about them  Likewise someone I knew who was a Strict Baptist said also it was spoken about them. Yep, I've heard many different churches referred to in the telling.
Members heartstrings
I have Pentecostal, "Full Gospel" and COGIC friends, who I believe are as saved as I am. We have played music at a Methodist church, on Saturday nights, in which the pastor took a break in the middle of the 'gig' to preach a Gospel message on salvation by grace through faith with power and conviction. I do believe the Baptist set of doctrines to be the most Biblical, especially fundamental Baptists, but I don't see how any Baptist could be a "Baptist brider". Yes, I just can't imagine folks like John Wesley, George Fox, George Whitefield, John Huss, William Tyndale, etc. etc. waiting on tables of Jerry Falwell, Billy Graham, Pat Robertson, John Piper, Jimmy Carter, etc. etc.
