Members Popular Post Rebecca
God is an amazing God. The amount of detail and care He placed into the creatures He created is just astounding. Each and every one of the billions of insects in the world is perfectly suited for the life it leads. Their coloring, their food of choice, their life cycle, their natural defenses... everything about them is designed perfectly. God put all this detail into the tiniest of creatures most of us don't think twice about.I think dragonflies are amazing, they're my favorite insect. Their metamorphosis from a life perfectly suited for living underwater to a life as a true master of flight in the air is just a miracle. Only God could have created such a unique insect. Now, everyone is more familiar with the life cycle of the butterfly than the dragonfly. Their life cycle is used by preachers and Sunday school teachers to illustrate 2 Corinthians 5:17 "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new." Both insects undergo a metamorphosis and transform into something completely different from what they were before. If you did not know about their life cycle, you wouldn't believe the flying creatures were once creepy crawlies. Only God can change us into a new creature. He has a perfect design for our lives but sometimes we are so used to living our life as a creepy crawlie, we can't see God has perfectly equipped us to lead a new, different, and amazing life. Are you using your wings? Or are you still on the ground? Sadly I do not have a photo series of a dragonfly I raised from nymph to adult. And I needed an excuse to post photos of my Lime butterfly I raised from caterpillar to adult. I just released it today. Members John81
Great illustrations in both words and pictures! I've always liked dragonflies too. When I was younger we spent a lot of time on the river where dragonflies were plentiful. Sometimes in the early evenings I'll watch them flying across my back yard.Indeed our God is so amazing and awesome. His creation shows so clearly that He exists. The idea that such complex creatures and the complex means of life they go through could just all happen by chance, and all from a beginning of nothing, is beyond incredulous. The Creator of dragonflies and butterflies also created you and I. How amazing is that?! Rebecca, Alan and Covenanter

Members Invicta
I am do like butterflies but I am not so sure about dragonflies as their nymphs eat fish fry and I like fish.Having said that, the first time we went camping in France, my wife says it was 1979, and she remembers these things, it was a very hot day and we were driving through a small town called Joinville. when we saw a filling station and cafe next to a river. We decided to stop and fill the car and also had a cold drink overloong to the river. We saw the most amazing almost translucent blue green dragonflies skimming across the water, shining in the sun. I have never seen any like that in the UK,
