Sand Mountain is only about an hour away from me...give or take a few!

2 of my kids were born in Chickamauga, GA (Homer Smith was my pastor), I've got kin in Ider, Flat Rock, Gurlie AL and in Dalton, Varnell, Tunnel Hill GA.

"I've got kin" --- the educator doesn't always show.

I'm familiar with Flat Rock, Chickamauga, and Dalton (the carpet capitol)...and for some reason, the name Homer Smith seems very familiar to me...but I could be wrong.

My mother had a beau back in the mid-70's who wrote like an indian.

Example:  Sun not shine last week.  Rain two day, clouds next.  Rain more rest of week.

His name was Thomas Allen Hawk.  We called him "Tomahawk" because of his writing style.  And mother?  She just had to have a nickname too. (even though she didn't ask for one). We called her "Hatchethead".
