For a Christian, anothers profession of faith should be right up there in the top serious things to consider category. What's more important, her eternal destiny and the possible influence she could have on the eternal destiny of others, or whether she ever becomes VP or President?

We are citizens of heaven. Our American citizenship is just temporal and of no lasting value.

Better that Obama were to win and plunge the nation into economic collapse if a dozen lost souls would be saved than for another to win and bring about economic prosperity for a dozen years while the lost remained lost. (an exagerated example simply to make a spiritual point)

The salvation of one person is of much greater worth than who becomes president.

Well...I am going to have to agree with Kita here. :thumb This is a HUGE matter as we all know. It, unfortunately, has boiled down to the voting for the lesser of the two evils. :badday: Yes...this is critical. So...I am sticking close to my hubby and voting for McCain/Palin. I can't throw away our household vote...you know? It will be McCain/Palin on November 4th for my household.

The majority of Christians on OB know that Obama is the "kiss of death." Talk about "Doomsday" for the unsaved. Hopefully, the Lord will rapture His kids out of here soon, if that "snake of a man" gets in.

For the Democrats out there...Watch the movie "Manchurian Candidate" if you think that Obama is your guy. I mean...would you vote for the Devil if he were on the ballot...just b/c you are a Democrat?? Think about it? Please. :smile

The "church" is we Christians. It's also our job to disciple Christians and we are to examine ourselves and look at the fruit of one another to see if we are truly in the faith.

There is nothing more important than the condition of ones soul. We are to be more concerned for the lost than we are the presidential election. We are to be more concerned about the actual state of professing Christians souls than we are about the government. We are to be more concerned about eternal matters than about temporal, earthly matters.

God's hand of judgement upon America will remain regardless of who is elected. In fact, given the likelihood of who our president will likely be, that's another aspect of God's judgement.

I do see your point, John. I really do. However, my conscience says..."no evil." Obama makes Bill Clinton look like "Howdy Doody" from where I am sitting.

Palin isn't the "evil" that Osama...ooops...Obama is. He is the scariest presidential candidate to ever hit the ballot in my years as a US citizen. If the Dems can't see this...then, oh well. That is sad. :sad

I've been standing in front of the mirror practicing, "President Obama is a wonderful President who loves his country first" since last night's debate finished.

Has that certain ring to it; don't you think?

I never said that was not true. But you are confusing the church with voting for President here. Some of you are going on and on about Palin "not really being Christian" when that really doesn't matter! Voting is politics...winning souls is church and Christianity! What you are saying sounds spiritual and great but when you really look at it...it makes no sense.

trc...that is the biggest laugh that I have had all day. :lol You really know how to cheer the heart and soul. I would rather laugh than vomit...you know?

President Obama has sounded awful from day one. I keep slipping on accident (or maybe not :tum ) and saying, Osama.

Yes...kita, that is true. This is no time for Christians to get "nitty gritty" as I have heard. This is serious business, and the Baptists will throw the vote away on Baldwin based on Christianity. Sure...it sounds great, but this is a "life and death" matter. JMHO.

It is either Mcain/Palin with morals and values of sorts...and trying to get this nation from "really" nosediving or Obama/Biden selling us down the river to Islam. Now that is the issue. Not terrorism, but the impending doom of Islam vs. Christianity. If Obama wins then it is God's wrath on this nation. Baptists that vote for Baldwin are letting this wrath happen. Sorry, but kita is right on. This is politics, brothers and sisters in Christ. I don't mean to sound cruel...but, this is the brutal truth of the matter.

Understanding that my citizenship is in Heaven, that I stand in the fear of God before I make any decision in my life, and that I do answer to Him first and foremost for what I do. Since when do Bible principles NOT apply to every aspect of the Christian's life. Our loyalty God comes before country. McCain still stands for abortion and isn't against gay marriage as long as they have a ceremony (he said it..I can provide the quote). How can I support that? My vote is first of all before God just as everything in my life. I WILL not compromise what I believe just to keep someone out of office...God is greater than American politics. It's my job to follow Him and do what I feel is right and in line with His Book. He can take care of the political mess...it's not up to me to vote for someone I can't fully back just because I'm afraid Obama might get in.

There is nothing wrong with voting based on "Christianity"...after all, I am a Christian before I'm an American.

Yes...that is my rationale, as well. I have to COMPROMISE, unfortunately, because my hubby is voting McCain/Palin. Believe me...if I was a single woman, or married to someone who was voting for Baldwin (whom I have ALWAYS supported) then my vote would be different on November 4th. I can't because I would erase hubby's vote, as it has been eloquently said on OB. So...I am between a "rock and a hard place." The Christian men around here are voting McCain/Palin...so, what can I say? Nothing more, really. :smile

I'm not saying that you have to change your vote to make it line up with my way of thinking. I've said before that if you feel you're doing what's right then do it whole heartedly...and certainly following your hubby is the right thing for you to do. :)

I'm just saying that it's very tiresome to be told by so many Christians that voting for anyone other than McCain is allowing Obama to win. It simply isn't true.
