I thought this may interest you.  On our TV tonight is The Ukulele Orchestra of GB.

 

Thew reviewer says he first saw them playing ten years ago in Portesham Village Hall in Dorset, then in 2005 they made in on a TV New years eve show.  Now no more playing in village halls in Darkest Dorset.  Tonight's effort comes from the Sydney Opera House.  Well, I never.

Well, they seem to be enjoying themselves. Some fine British comedy in there.

I liked the Dambusters March.  We will have to see what they play this evening.  I must admit I have never heard of them before, although in one of the YT they are playing at the BBC Proms.    What a musical couple of days we have had.  The NYE Gala Concert from Berlin with the Berlin Philharmonic last night.  The Annual Strauss concert  from Vienna this mornng, my wife insist on watching it ever year, and now......Should we mention them in the same breath?

It wasn't a personal question. I listened to the link. Plenty of rhythm and fun, but I couldn't whistle what I heard.

It therefore failed the OGWT.

They actually play quite well, though they are definitely about novelty and fun, taking traditionally non-ukulele style songs and playing them, like Wagner's Ride of the Valkyries Let's see if I can actually get a video to attach.
