Now this is something I'm pretty skeptical about... I've heard it said that there are IFB circles out there that believe that if you don't use the KJV, you're automatically going to hell. This sounds pretty insane to me, and I'm pretty sure there are extremely few of these kind of people, if any.

But I do want to get my facts straight. Where I know there are plenty of peeps holding to the KJVO position, I most certainly haven't seen them make it an issue of salvation. Are there seriously people out there like that?

Probably...but as far as I know, they're nowhere around here. (And I will say that I've never heard of anyone who believes this...If they did, they wouldn't be true Christians, depending only on the finished work of Christ for salvation.)

Yes even those of us that take a more extreme view on the KJB than the board here like I do, do not believe that the KJB is necessary for salvation. The Gospel is the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. While I don't believe every version is the word of God, I do believe they contain enough of the words of God for someone to understand how to be saved. I do however know one person that used to believe that if you weren't saved using a King James Bible you weren't saved. I think he has since changed that position.

:amen::goodpost: MrsW. I was saved in a KJVO church in 2003. I had gone there since 1999. I am learning so much since I have been in my new IFB church for over the past 3 years and on OLB. I stand strong on the KJVO, too, but I also believe that one can be saved through other Bibles, too. This is a long story.... :smile I will stop, now.

I'm fairly certain one can be saved without having any printed Bible in front of them. All it takes is the Word of God; which can be quoted or spoken by someone telling the person the Gospel!
