I believe in UFO's and aliens. Two UFOS in the Bible are Ezekiels Wheel and The pillar of fire by night that led the Jews through the wilderness. One clue to aliens in the Bible can be found in Genesis 6:1-2 & 4 "and it came to pass' date=' when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them, That the sons of God a saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose......There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.(KJV) Who were these sons of God, we know that there is only one true, Son of God, so it stands to reason they might be aliens. my pastor (Harry Walther) believes the antichrist may come in a UFO??? :bible:[/quote']

Now, this is interesting...christian. I haven't heard that. Well...anything is possible, I think?

Umm... I must respectfully disagree... everything is not possible. :smile

Exodus 13:21, 22
And the LORD went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud, to lead them the way; and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light; to go by day and night: He took not away the pillar of the cloud by day, nor the pillar of fire by night, from before the people.
Exodus 14:19
And the angel of God, which went before the camp of Israel, removed and went behind them; and the pillar of the cloud went from before their face, and stood behind them:

Here the pilar is referred to both as the LORD and as the angel of God. Can someone with more Biblical wisdom help me out here, please? With these names being applied, would this be a preincarnate appearance of Christ? Or was the pillar an angel, with Ex. 13 simply referring to the fact that it was God who led them?

Either way -- Neither Christ nor his angels should properly be considered aliens.

That's why it's important to stick strictly with what the Bible says. I just read last week where some man had written that if someone doesn't believe in UFOs and aliens then they are "mentally sick." This coming from a rather prominent "preacher." The problem with that reasoning being we don't find UFOs and aliens in the Bible so we have no real authority from God about them. Saying that something is fact, when it is mere speculation isn't right.

:amen::goodpost: Both my IFB churches have never discussed this. Thanks, joyful. :smile I am learning so much. That is why I don't like these websites b/c many are "secular" in nature and can give out the wrong information if one is not careful.

Very true...I guess that's why I try not to read a lot of other "books". There's enough there in the Bible that amazes and fills me with wonder. Enough to last a lifetime!

I've seen so many people get messed up with they start fooling around with speculation (especially on random websites). If you're curious about something I find it best to seek out a person who is firmly grounded in the Word and can give you a Bible-based explanation with references for you to study.

I have personally visited this "Harry Walther" website. The odd thing is that he has his own Bible Code "prophecies" on there all of which have failed. A lot of them are old "prophecies" that never came to pass. The Bible tells us we're not to listen to people who make prophecies and they don't come to pass. I know there aren't prophets nowadays and that's why I steer clear of anyone who date-sets and makes "predictions" and such.

This prominent "preacher" I was speaking of earlier has made predicitons about when the Lord is to come back. He started making these back in 1989 and obviously the Lord has still not returned. He said they were only guesses, but I believe the Bible teaches us that there is no way we can know when teh rapture will take place. Any man who tries to predict this isn't listening to God's Word very well.

I know a preacher like this, at least back when I was at the church...it was out west.

Anyways....

When preachers get going on supernatural stuff that the Bible doesn't talk about, it gets dangerous. Yeah, stuff about demons and mentioning the possibility of UFOs being demons is appropriate...but investing alot of time in it? Nah. It just really points people's curiosity in a direction it shouldn't be going.

Years and years ago there was a very popular book published called "Chariots of the Gods" that used ancient writings, including the Bible to "prove" that we were actually descended from Space Aliens and not formed by God. THAT is a whole lot of hooey, in my opinion. God is God and there is only one God and no other. Even if God did create other life forms on other planets and they were somehow able to gain the technology for intergalatic space travel, it would still not change the fact that they are CREATED BEINGS - and not some sort of creature to be worshipped. IF they come here and we are some sort of labratory science experiement to them - well who cares? The only one I worry about seeing me is God, who knows all and sees all, and sustains me in this world.

Stick with the Bible and you can't go wrong, because God is not the author of confusion. Start chasing these stories about space aliens and human speculation and you wind up confused and if you are not careful you will be consumed by thoughts regarading THEM instead of keeping your mind on God like we ought to do.

The Bible DOES talk about this stuff, and I for one am thankful for preachers that do give the Scriptural reasons for all this. You all can choose to ignore it if you like but I believe that God doesn't want us to be ignorant. Candlelight, seriously...Dr Ruckman gives so much Biblical proof in that book "Black is Beautiful" that if you are at all interested in this subject it is worth buying it to read.

I've been reading some of his stuff lately just to learn more about him. He approaches thing in a very unbiblical way a lot of times, so I'd be hesitant in taking everything he says as fact. He may say some good things, but it's a lot of stuff to sift through, IMHO.

Biblical proof is "Thus saith the Lord", not Genesis 13:13 means something evil because it has the number 13 in it. Chapter and verse numbers weren't even assigned to Scripture until long after it was given by inspiration...but that's another well-beaten path.

I can't find his TV show anymore on UVERSE. It used to be on Friday night's at 7:00 P.M. The past month...it has not been on. Hmmm?

Also, Katey-Anne I wish that you could hear the Doc's preaching from the 1950's. It has been years since I have heard those tapes...but, he is VERY Biblical and so easy to understand. It is a whole cassette of tapes that goes through the Bible from start to finish. He is right on the money. :thumb

For being so KJV only, Ruckman adds alot "between the lines" to come up with his theories...esp those on aliens.

Reader beware.

Maybe he just had a "Momentary Lapse of Reason." One never knows? :lol
