The actual word that is used to define our government is "Oligarchy": a form of government in which all power is vested in a few persons or in a dominant class or clique; government by the few.

It is a rare occasion when anybody agrees with me but this time I am not alone in my opinion: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/northamerica/usa/10769041/The-US-is-an-oligarchy-study-concludes.html

Isn't that just about the same thing the Marxists said about the "bourgeoisie"?  Our government is actually very large and growing. If the Demo-Marxists have their way, we'll all be government "employees" eventually, regardless of the fact that the Soviets proved that was a failure. In actuality, real power has always been in the hands of the few, and always will be, But I'm glad that ours still has some checks and balances left, lest we have a real king/dictator/tyrant to deal with.

Aren't very many checks and balances left and those are not used very much to control the powerful.  Think of the 2008 banking  fiasco when all kinds of shenanigans took place in the financial and banking sector.  The banks have been and continue to be bailed out and none of the instigators have served a day in prison.  So the checks and balances don't seem to work when it comes to the bad checks and phony balances of the powerful financial sector.  If anybody thinks my calling these people criminals is simply hyperbole or just sour grapes on my part, I can post plenty of names and evidence.

Unfortunately there is far too little checking and balancing going on. Judges make law, which is unconstitutional, yet congress and the president allow it. Presidents use executive orders to unconstitutionally circuMVent congress and the courts, as well as other means, while the congress abdicates it's duties and the courts play politics. Each branch of government winks or turns a blind eye to the abuses of power of the other so they can continue to do the same. The few things they do bring up are typically for show and amount to little.

The main prOBlem being, both the Dems and the Repubs like big government, they like power, they like control, so all this government excess and abuse of power works in their favor. The only point they differ on is which of them should steer.

It's been put forth that 90-some percent of the federal government...departments, agencies, regulations, laws...are unconstitutional. Is either Party working to correct that? No! In fact, each Party works to maintain and even expand this.

That is a hierarchal form of Governance where a few rule over the rest.

Here is a table from  Definition of Terms:

Society and Organization

The basic organization of society reflects the worldview of the individuals involved at each level.

General forms of organization

Hierarchy A pyramid-style social and economic control structure. The freedom and authority of one group of individuals is limited by a smaller, more powerful group at the next higher level.

Bureaucracy The operational levels of a hierarchical control structure, either government or corporate. Success in the organization is based on OBedience and conformity. Collectivist forms of organization

Communist A theoretical form of Socialism where all individuals are equal, all property is jointly owned, and all decisions are made by consensus of the collective without the need for "the State".

Socialist A form of Democracy where all property is owned by "the State", and all decisions are made by public committees sometimes known as soviets. Degenerates into an Oligarchy with top-down control via the central committee and the bureaucracy.

Democracy A system in which the collective will of the majority is considered absolute. Property may be owned collectively or privately. It is dominated by political activists and financial interests who mOBilize majority groups to exercise control over minority groups on specific issues. Degenerates into an Oligarchy as the most successful manipulators consolidate their wealth and position. Individualist forms of organization

Anarchy A non-hierarchical system in which each individual exercises complete self-government. An ideal and unstable condition that rapidly degenerates into a Democracy for any group larger than a few individuals.

Republic A system in which a charter defines certain rules and limitations on the will of the majority, safeguarding individual and minority group rights. Most property is owned privately rather than collectively. The upper levels of the hierarchy are selected by and accountable to the public, and their power is limited by the charter. Degenerates into an Oligarchy as the charter is gradually bypassed, and power and property are concentrated.

Federation A group of Republics acting together for mutual advantage, while maintaining their independent authority. Degenerates into an Empire as the constituent Republics yield power to a central authority which eventually assumes control.

Capitalist An economic system based on individual ownership of property and capital, compatible with individualist forms of political organization. Tends to degenerate into an elitist system as capital is concentrated into fewer and fewer hands (monopoly capitalism). Elitist forms of organization

Monarchy A hierarchy where the top level is comprised of a "royal" family which exercises absolute control and owns all property. The upper levels are comprised of "nOBle" families which receive and maintain their titles at the discretion of the royalty. Control and property are passed on to bloodline descendents of these families.

Oligarchy A hierarchy where the top level is comprised of an elite group of individuals which are united by ideology in addition to family bloodlines. The upper levels are comprised of corporations, foundations and other long-lived entities controlled by this group. Control and property are passed on to group members chosen for their loyalty.

Fascist A hierarchy which permits a certain degree of "private" business ownership and operation under its oversight, as opposed to a Socialist system where all production is directly owned and controlled by the State.

Dictatorship A hierarchy where the top level is controlled by a single strongman who maintains his position by force and terror. Tends to collapse due to corruption and lack of internal support. Empire A hierarchy spanning multiple regions. Normally the result of a hostile takeover of one or more weaker entities by a stronger and more aggressive one. The weaker entities may continue to exist as client states without independent authority.

Totalitarian A rigid hierarchy which is especially intolerant of individual freedom or dissent. Authoritarian A rigid hierarchy under the authority of a single ruler (eg: Emperor, Dictator)

So looking at the table pick out America's form of government as it is today.

Something that most people don't understand about checks and balances is that, yes, it is designed to show that no branch of the federal government is more powerful than another...but We the People are to be the enforcers of it - in effect, the actual check and balance to the federal government.  And We the People have not been doing our jOB. Most especially Christians.  Sad, really, the way we've not been the right kind of stewards of the gift God gave us in this country.

One of the Muslim guys who bought sheep on my farm, guy is from Turkey, asked me why there are so many different churches here. He couldn't understand why everyone wasn't the same. I couldn't think of anything to say at the time. But the other day, during preaching, our pastor was preaching on false doctrine slipping into the churches, cults etc and it hit me: (No I wasn't daydreaming)We have so many denominations, churches, cults and religions because we are FREE. Try to have a different religion, especially real Christianity, in some of those Muslim countries.

And that is precisely what was intended with the first amendment.  OBadiah Holmes shed his blood via a beating in 1651 for religious liberty: namely, for not bowing to the Puritan demand regarding what he taught (especially infant baptism).  That was the seed for political liberty  (in truth, he was beaten on the very square where, 100 years later, the Boston Massacre took place) in this country.

Even though our Constitution did not specifically identify a religious belief, it was well known then (not so much now because people are willingly ignorant) that the "religion" was Christianity. While Baptists are closest to biblical truth (and Holmes was a Baptist...a belief group that was hated by Puritans), back then there were others who were biblical in most aspects.  Many Christians mistakenly blame our religious liberty for the prOBlems we have now.  But that is a bogus blame, honestly.  The blame lies squarely on the backs of Christians who have let down the standard (as in flag, not rule)...being effective witnesses, seeing people saved and discipled, raising their children for the Lord, and being active in choosing government servants, thus allowing the servant to become the oppressor.

If only we had people willing to work at a co-equal interactive government, where laws are only enforced upon those who break them.  Where the Federal govt would be limited to securing the borders, Maintaining a military for protection from foreign attack, our embassies and interests overseas, and maintaining interstate highway system.

Each State maintains their limited welfare, Limited unemployment and social services for the poor and handicapped, collection of taxes (ten percent goes to the fed to maintain their programs as stated above), Senators and Congressmen are paid by their respective states with limited terms, interstate highways and roads, and a state Guard.  Each State can use it resources both natural and invented to enrich their citizens by offering employments both in private and public enterprises.  Each State maintains their own public educational system that teaches the basics needed for life Mathematics, English (reading, writing), Basic Sciences of Biology and Chemistry. Among other things.

Both Fed and State governments are co-equal/collegial interactive Govts based on co-equal/collegial interactive communication and accountability.  these systems are smaller and easier to manage and account for.

This is what the original plan was to have a govt that was co-equal, interactive and Honest.  It never lasted more than 50 years because the country grew to fast to handle the load so it was slowly reverted back to a Hierarchal govt, albeit a democratic hierarchy.  The prOBlem is the people have no say and are not represented equally.  Most laws over the last 60 years have been passed for big business interests over the peoples interests.  It was big business banks that have really controlled this nations since the 1830's

The key to this working is people being honest, having values and morals as we have that respect life and property of others.  Promoting high work ethics and standards.  Under a Christian Moral system based on accountability to God and Conforming to his Moral Standard a co-equal interactive government will work.  This is why the current educational system must be destroyed, it has undermined any accountability to God and development of his high moral standard, and reduced men to mere survival of the fittest animalistic nature. And we all see around us everywhere what this social engineered experiment has done to this nations already.
