I was searching Google for an online directory of Baptist churches since I was going to be on the road cross country and didn't want to miss church while traveling, and using the words "online and baptist" this site was the first choice!  I have spent two days reading through a lot of the postings here.  What a wonderful site!  I am looking forward to participating in some of the discussions here.  I am strictly KJV only, and I am encouraged to see that that is all that is allowed to be quoted here.  I was saved 18 years ago when I went to a Baptist Church chasing a girl I was hoping to attract. God had other plans for me!  Never did catch the girl, but we and her now husband are great friends (I am very careful never to alone with her since I was once very attracted to her, and I have told her husband so).  I try never to give occasion for my flesh.

 

Our church describes itself as "Independent Fundamental Baptist" (though we are considering dropping "fundamental" from the sign because of negative connotation locally). Our statement of faith reads pretty much identical to the doctrine page here.

Now if you tell me Bro. Garry is a 49'rs fan and/or Oakland A's fan, I will have to ask if there is an "ignore" feature on this site.   :knuppel:  Just kidding of course.  God is merciful even to Duck, A's and gulp...49'r fans.  Though I don't see how even God can forgive a Raiders fan, He prOBably just gives them over to a reprOBate mind.

How dare you accuse me of being a bay area fan!  Actually I do like one California team.  I was raised a Dodger Fan since the Mariners didn't exist until my late teens.  I think I learned how to talk, listening to Vin Scully announce Dodger games.  For NFL, I like the Bronco's and the Seahawks which is going to cause me grief this weekend since they play each other.

Just spent some time going through some more of the threads.  That "ban" game is funny.  2bLikeJesus is really good at somehow tying scripture into his bans (though sometimes weakly) and it is often hilarious!  When I have been here a while longer that looks like a fun thread to comment in, but being less than 24 hours old here, I prOBably shouldn't start "banning" people even in jest.
