Wanted to let anyone in my area know that the week of October 19 we are having Evangelist Dr. Chuck Cofty here! He is a highly decorated retired marine and we are having God and Country Sunday that Sunday and then revival services all week. He is one amazing evangelist....anyone is welcome to stop by for a service if you are in the area! We had to schedule him like three years ago to get him here. But he is the most gracious and humble and sweet man you'd ever meet. The best is how he talks about his dear wife....

Haha yeah to get Sam Gipp to come to your church is the same...have to book him years ahead. I think our church is on the list now.

Glad to hear you're going to be having services Suzy! I hope they go really well for you guys. They are always a blessing.

We just went to services over the weekend that I guess you could call "revival" services, as they were for the benefit of Christians.

We have Thanksgiving meetings coming up at our church...and they always fall on our wedding anniversary, so I guess we still won't be going out for our anniversary on the day this year either. (We have the thanksgiving meetings the week before thanksgiving). My pastor does a historical monolouge on one of the nights. It goes from Sunday through till Wednesday.

We always enjoyed Bro. Cofty! He and our pastor would have week-long contests about who loved their wife more. :Green

Aww it's so great to see a man who really loves and honors his wife. It speaks volumes about his ministry.

It really is. So many pastors use their wives as jokes to get people to laugh, or disrespect them from the pulpit. Dr. Cofty often talks about his wife in endearing terms and talks about leaving love notes for each other...and its not like they're spring chickens, either! He is a very gentle man but at the same time, ALL "man" as he did so well in the marines. He often holds mens retreats throughout the year, going hunting or whatever, and preaching, and he sees men saved through this ministry.

That's very sweet of him about his wife.

my hubby does tease me, and I think it is funny. But I wouldn't really like it if he made me someone to joke abut to people. And he never does do that.. just privately between us.

I remember when we had him for "I Love America" day many years ago (during the Clinton years...). Our son had just gotten done reading a couple of books about Vietnam POW's and he got to talk to Bro. Cofty about it - Bro. C wasn't a POW, but he had to see some sad sights when soldiers came home here to the states. He left a mark on Josh, that's for sure.

Just wanted to update that today was a great day! We enjoyed Dr. Cofty. My favorite part about him is that he is such a nice man. So many preachers, especially the "bigger names" seem often too proud to talk to certain people or to church folks. But Dr. Cofty is just so "folksy" and friendly and nice. He brought chocolate for my boys and he was talking and having a good time with people today during lunch. It was just a real blessing. Looking forward to the week!!!!
