While I am KJV, I am somewhat sympathetic toward what the Geneva bible says here, in that, many names and titles of Gods are often just words that convey a meaning that has been made the name, like El, which means the mighty one, we translate as 'God', though it can be used to refer to human powers, as well, in a more general sense. Baal is a word that means lord, I believe, but it is transliterated as the name, Baal. So what the Geneva bible has done is not unusual conpared to what the KJV translators have done in other cases. I suppose the test would be to find if there have been idols worshiped named Mauzzim. Yes, kind of sounds like Muslim, but that's the religion name, not the god. Or more specifically, the followers of the religion.

By the way, in the original printing of the KJV 1611, the translators did note in the gloss, in this passage with 'the god of forces', this - "Heb. Mauzzin"

 

I think they were smart guys too.

What does God's Word say about God's Word?

Psalms 19:

[7] The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.

Sir if your bible is not Perfect, Sure, Right, Pure, Clean, True, Righteous Altogether, Desirable, and Sweet then you got the wrong book.

It doesn't sound to me like you're too sure about the Word of God

Search the scriptures and compare to the standard mentioned above and see for yourself.

 

It's also good to note the results of the Word of God highlighted in blue. I especially like the enduring forever part. Since 1611 until now is a pretty good start.

If you read any of my posts you should know that I do find 'my' Bible this way exactly.

And I do not doubt whether I have 'the' Bible, I am SO sure I do.
